Over the past 20 years aqueous organometallic catalysis has found applications in small- scale organic synthesis in the laboratory, as well as in the industrial production of chemicals with a combined output close to one million tons per year. Aqueous/organic two-phase reactions allow easy product-catalyst separation and full catalyst recovery which mean clear benefits not only in economic but also in environmental and green chemistry contexts. Instead of putting together a series of expert reviews of specialized fields, this book attempts to give a comprehensive yet comprehensible description of the various catalytic transformations in aqueous systems as seen by an author who has been working on aqueous organometallic catalysis since its origin. Emphasis is put on the discussion of differences between related non-aqueous and aqueous processes due to the presence of water. The book will be of interest to experts and students working in catalysis, inorganic chemistry or organic synthesis, and may serve as a basis for advanced courses.

Herrmann, this book presents every important aspect of aqueous-phase organometallic catalysis, a method which saves time, waste and money. The large-scale application of this "green" technology in chemical industry clearly underlines its practical use outside of academia. New chapters (for example "Organic Chemistry in Water"), 20% more content and fully updated contributions from a plethora of international authors make this book a "must-have" for everyone working in this field. From the reviews of the first edition: "This overview will be extremely useful for everyone active in this field [...]" Angewandte Chemie "This book is an essential in any chemical research library and I strongly recommend it to all synthetic research and teaching chemists. [...]" The Alchemist "The editors are to be congratulated on assembling such a wide range of contributors who have described the industrial as well as the academic aspects of the subject." Organometallics In Process Chemistry written by Thomas J. Colacot and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-04-01 with Science categories.

This volume gives an overview of the applications of organometallic chemistry in process chemistry relevant to the current topics in synthetic chemistry. This volume starts with an introduction on the historical development of organometallics in process chemistry and is followed by chapters dealing with the last five years’ development in various organometallic reaction types such as the challenging cross coupling process, construction of 3.1.0 bicycles, pressure and transfer hydrogenations of historically challenging compounds such as esters, utilization of carbon dioxide for making organic compounds by flow process, drug synthesis and metal detection and scavenging in the finished APIs. A chapter by Colacot et.al., is also devoted to the process development and structural understanding of organometallic catalysts with particular emphasis to LnPd(0) catalysts. An academia – industry collaborated chapter on the use of water as a solvent for organometallic processes is included in this book.

Multiphase catalysis is a key technology for the competitive and sustainable production of fine chemicals in coming decades. A joint academic and industry consortium has developed tools for considering complex chemical and process-based requirements when setting up a catalytic system. This book shows how the resulting competence covers such supercritical fluid (SCF) technology in catalysis, ionic liquids (Il), ligand design for SFCs and Ils, thermomorphic solvent systems, reactor design and more.

Homogeneous catalysis is the success story of organometallic chemistry. Since the discovery of hydroformylation by O. Roelen in 1938, catalytic applications have paved the way of organometallic compounds in industry. Bulk and fine chemicals, and even natural products are being produced via homogeneous organometallic catalysis. The enormous breadth of this topic in view of both basic research and industrial application is met in this three volume handbook edited jointly by W. A. Herrmann and B. Cornils. The list of contributors reads like a who-is-who in organometallic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis. In this handbook, experts will find the current state-of-the-art in their field and advanced students will benefit from the concise treatment of important catalytic reactions and processes. With its balanced presentation of the truly interdisciplinary topic and its outstanding editor- and authorship, the 'Cornils/Herrmann' is beyond common standards. Now in its second, completely revised and enlarged edition!

Principles Of Organometallic Chemistry written by G. E. Coates and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Science categories.

The second edition of Organometallic Compounds (1960) was used not only by specialists but also as an undergraduate textbook. The third edition, recently published in two volumes, is about three times the length of the second and contains considerably more factual material than is appropriate for a student textbook. Therefore we believe that a shorter treatment would be welcome. In planning this book the authors have emphasized matters more of prin ciple than of detail, and have included in the first two chapters some general discussion of the properties and syntheses of organometallic compounds that is not to be found in the larger work. Some aspects of the organic chemistry of arsenic, and of silicon with particular reference to silicone polymers, are also included. Most university teachers of chemistry are becoming seriously concerned about the relentless increase in the amount and complexity of the material that is squeezed into undergraduate chemistry courses. With this in mind the authors have tried to cut detail to a minimum, but readers will find that the relative amount presented varies considerably between the various topics discussed. In general the treatment is more extensive than usual only if either or both of these conditions are met: (1), the subject has significant bearing on other major branches of chemistry including im portant industrial processes; (2), the topic is commonly misunderstood or found to be confusing.
