L’opera di Pasolini può essere letta secondo questo simbolismo: diverse sensibilità e competenze – da quella letteraria a quella poetica, dall’artistica alla scenografica, dall’etnografia urbana a quella antropologica e teologica – quasi autonome ma legate da vicinanza e prossimità come le varie isole di un arcipelago. Tale mondo frastagliato rimanda all’uomo Pasolini e al mistero di ogni uomo impastato per lo più da tanti elementi non sempre riconducibili a unità. Fluidità e interconnessioni sono le uniche mappe certe. Pur facendo parte di un unico arcipelago le isole restano isole e il mare che le circonda è la loro unica salvezza e dannazione, prigione e via d’uscita. Il libro presenta dodici isole dell’arcipelago Pasolini che avranno il nome dei luoghi antropologici che compongono la sua ampia produzione letteraria, scenografica, poetica e antropologica. Seguendo il metodo della teologia letteraria del pensatore francese J. P. Jossua, si farà parlare l’autore e si tenterà un possibile dialogo a partire dalla fedeltà al testo. Sarà Pasolini stesso a condurci in questo viaggio immaginifico, per arrivare, alla fine, a presentare al lettore una mappa di navigazione all’interno dell’immensa opera pasoliniana e far emergere la sua idea di uomo.
