Zahlreiche Untersuchungen zur phonetischen und zur morphologischen Entwicklung prazisieren unser Bild von der armenischen Sprache.Im Zusammenhang mit den sprachwissenschaftlichen Entdeckungen wird auch die Entstehung des armenischen Volkes immer deutlicher. Die Sprache stammt ursprunglich aus Sudosteuropa, doch nach ihrer Ankunft in der neuen Heimat wurde sie von vor Ort ansassigen Menschen ubernommen und umgestaltet.Die Armenistik erhalt durch die "Armenischen Studien" eine grosse Bereicherung.
