En este texto se propone un recorrido historico por las principales aportaciones de la modernidad artistica latinoamericana, desde sus inicios en los anos veinte del siglo pasado hasta la irrupcion de la postmodernidad, aqui tambien considerada. Tambien se estudian en un apartado propio los contenidos de las fuentes documentales, sin olvidar las revistas de vanguardia. La ultima parte del libro esta dedicada a una amplia bibliografia, que sigue la division por tendencias vista en el texto previo."
