In these accounts you will be able to discover Frank's exceptional dry country humor that has endeared him to so many of his friends and relatives. Everybody in the thoroughbred horse business wants to win the Kentucky Derby, but the odds on making it to the winner's circle at Churchill Downs are about 35,000-to-1. How did a former Chicago newspaper editor bring together the stallion and mare and breed the winner of the world's most famous and important horserace? Jim Squires's Horse of a Different Color tells the story of his wild ride from absurdity to glory at the pinnacle of horseracing success alongside Monarchos, the charismatic gray colt blessed with the extraordinary speed, poise, and stamina necessary to carry his motley band of human handlers to the highest level of their profession. Squires takes you on an exciting journey through the close-knit and secretive world of horse breeders, buyers, sellers, owners, and trainers. And his hilarious tour of racehorse culture ends with a blazing sprint down the homestretch of the second fastest Derby in history in the company of a crowd of Kentuckians driven mad with "Derby Fever."

Mike Aul thinks he’s living the good life in Ann Arbor, Michigan. At the age of 35, he’s working as a tattoo artist and running a lucrative business selling his Native American spiritual paintings on-line. Then a reoccurring dream reveals the image of an elderly Native American man from the days of the wild west. Following his instincts, Mike paints the image onto a canvas and it quickly becomes one of his best pieces. When the owner of a Phoenix art gallery invites him to display his work in a South- west exhibition, Mike seizes the opportunity and includes the painting of the elderly Native American in his collection. His life quickly takes a turn for the bizarre when a Navajo grandfather named Arthur White Horse, visits the Phoenix gallery and claims the man in the painting is actually an old friend of Mike’s who is reaching out to him from a past life. “He travels across time with a message for you,” Arthur declares. Mike quickly dismisses the old man’s words as Indian mumbo-jumbo. However, his questions begin to mount when the man in the painting suddenly begins to haunt his every move. Who is this mysterious “out of time” friend and what message could he possibly have for a young Michigan artist? Hoping to find the answers to these questions, Mike accepts Arthur’s invitation to visit him on the Navajo Indian Reservation. What he discovers in the mystical land of the Navajo is more than he bargains for and he returns a very different man!

But Merlin cast a powerful spell to ensure that if Morgana ever returned, Arthur and his knights would be reborn. Now, centuries later, Morgana has returned . . . Her first attack is a red fog that wipes out the world’s modern technology. Countries fall as the world plunges back into the Middle Ages. Then Morgana sends her soldiers to find Arthur before he can claim the magical sword, Excalibur, and unite the people against her. Tracking him down in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, her victory finally appears to be at hand. Or is this only the beginning of a new epic battle?

Noel Griese has written the definitive biography of public relations pioneer Arthur W. Page, whose father Walter H. Page with Frank N. Doubleday in 1900 created the publishing house of Doubleday, Page & Co. Arthur Page joined the firm as a reporter on the World's Work magazine after graduating from Harvard in 1905. In 1913, when his father was named U.S. ambassador to Great Britain, Arthur Page became editor of the World's Work. He remained with Doubleday until 1926 except for one break during World War I during which he served on the propaganda staff of Gen. John J. "Black Jack" Pershing. In 1927, he left Doubelday to become the public relations vice president of AT&T, then America's largest corporation. A close friend of Henry L. Stimson, Page during World War II headed the Joint Army and Navy Committee on Welfare and Recreation, which oversaw such morale activities as the American Red Cross, USO, Yank magazine, the Stars & Stripes newspaper, Army films and other activities. He went to England in 1944 to oversee troop information for the Normandy Invasion. In 1945, he wrote the news release announcing the first use of the atom bomb at Hiroshima. Page retired from AT&T at the end of 1946. From then until his death in 1960, he was an eminent public relations consultant and a founder of Radio Free Europe. Noel Griese's biography has been selected to the Knowledge Is Power short list of the best books ever written on the subject of public relations.

You just don't know what can happen when you have a magic barrel, but Arthur P. Snittles learns fast that it can be rewarding if used right. And if used wrong...well, he learns about that too. Author J. A. Pasch brings us this heartfelt story about a boy who, in a week's time, realizes the importance of love and family. He learns what happened to his grandmother and why she is not around anymore. He learns about what kind of person his grandfather really is, too, but in the process of finding out the truth, he has to go to many places and meet all sorts of interesting people. Entertaining for people of all ages, Arthur P. Snittles will make you laugh and will make you cry. But in the end, you will realize that it's never too late to correct a mistake. In Arthur P. Snittles: The Magic Barrel, Jeff Pasch created an amusing story of magic and adventure infused with short history lessons. The brilliant mix of history with fiction will surely keep young readers entertained while they journey along with Arthur through time. --Brian K. Spychalla Arthur P. Snittles: The Magic Barrel is a fascinating story. This story kept me glued to the pages to see what would happen next. It also made me feel I was part of the story. I was intrigued by the idea that it kept me in suspense. --Kathy McGinnis I read Jeff's book with great interest. He has combined adventure; positive relationships, especially between the children and their grandpa; moral values; and history in a great medium that can be enjoyed by children as they read it themselves or have a special person read it with them. I look forward to more exciting books from this author in the future. --Kathy Kett
