Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are one of top investment priorities in these days. They are aimed at finding applications in fields of special value for humans, including education. The fourth industrial revolution will replace not only human hands but also human brains, the time of machines requires new forms of work and new ways of business education, however we must be aware that if there is no control of human-chatbot interaction, there is a risk of losing sight of this interaction’s goal. First, it is important to get people to truly understand AI systems, to intentionally participate in their use, as well as to build their trust, because “the measure of success for AI applications is the value they create for human lives” (Stanford University 2016, 33). Consequently, society needs to adapt to AI applications if it is to extend its benefits and mitigate the inevitable errors and failures. This is why it is highly recommended to create new AI-powered tools for education that are the result of cooperation between AI researchers and humanities’ and social sciences’ researchers, who can identify cognitive processes and human behaviors. This book is authored by a range of international experts with a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives hopefully bringing us closer to the responses for the questions what we should teach (what the ‘right’ set of future skills is), how we should teach (the way in which schools should teach and assess them) and where we should teach (what implications does AI have for today’s education infrastructure). We must remember as we have already noticed before “…education institutions would need to ensure that that they have an appropriate infrastructure, as well as the safety and credibility of AI-based systems. Ultimately, the law and policies need to adjust to the rapid pace of AI development, because the formal responsibility for appropriate learning outcomes will in future be divided between a teacher and a machine. Above all, we should ensure that AI respect human and civil rights (Stachowicz-Stanusch, Amann, 2018)”.

Belonging to the realm of intelligent technologies, it is increasingly accepted that artificial intelligence (AI) has evolved from being merely a development standpoint in computer science. Indeed, recent reports and academic publications show that we are clearly on the path toward pervasive AI in both business and society. Organizations must adopt AI to maintain a competitive advantage and explore opportunities for unprecedented innovation. This book focuses on understanding the wide range of opportunities as well as the spectrum of challenges AI brings in different business contexts and society at large. The book highlights novel and high-quality research in data science and business analytics and examines the current and future impact of AI in business and society. The authors bridge the gap between business and technical perspectives and demonstrate the potential (and actual) impact on society. Embracing applied, qualitative, and quantitative research as well as field experiments and data analysis, the book covers a broad range of topics including but not limited to human-centered AI, product and process innovation, corporate governance, AI and ethics, organizational performance, and entrepreneurship. This comprehensive book will be a valuable resource for researchers, academics, and postgraduate students across AI, technology and innovation management, and a wide range of business disciplines.

This book offers a current perspective on Artificial Intelligence in the context of an ever-changing and growing technological revolution in business management. It analyses how existing companies are adapting, new ones are emerging, and others are disappearing. Process re-engineering has made it possible to reshape organizational structures and create new departments and positions, all geared towards digitalization. The emergence of new business functions has led to new strategic thinking on e.g. companies’ structure, size, and core business – but also to the creation of new jobs, the need to cover digital skills, and the need for innovative team management. In short, it is a question of delving deeper into HR and the impact that digitalization has had on it, as the employee is one of the key figures to protect. The book initially focuses on providing a review of the current literature on the advancement of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on business transformation and the emergence of new management models. In turn, it addresses the diverse perspectives that currently dominate the business market, as well as the corporate transformations that have taken place in the post-pandemic era. Lastly, it equips employers with new tools to incorporate into their organizations, facilitating talent retention. In connection with HR, this digital transformation is reflected in new roles for change management and cultural transformation, including the use of digital technologies to improve the employee experience. In brief, the book offers a practical guide to business transformation, technological advances, and their application in human resources departments.
