Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Didaktik für das Fach Deutsch - Deutsch als Fremdsprache, DaF, Note: 1,0, Universität Bielefeld, Veranstaltung: Lexik und Phraseologie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Fremdsprachenunterricht wird besonders deutlich, dass Sprache aus zweierlei besteht, erstens, aus lexikalischen Einheiten, „Wörtern“, und zweitens, dass diese nach bestimmten Regeln behandelt, d.h. aneinandergereiht, konjugiert usw. werden. Die Kombination aus einer begrenzten Anzahl von Regeln und einer zwar nicht unbegrenzten, doch umfangreichen Menge an Lexemen ermöglichen es, eine theoretisch unbegrenzte Anzahl von Sätzen zu bilden. Diese beiden Elemente stehen sich im fremdsprachlichen Unterricht in letzter Konsequenz als kommunikative Kompetenz und grammatische Korrektheit gegenüber. Die Systematik, d.h. die begrenzten, vorhandenen Regeln der Grammatik lässt sie gegenüber der relativ unbegrenzten, unsystematischen Menge an Lexik als prädestiniert für die Vermittlung erscheinen. Die Regellosigkeit der Lexik hingegen verlangt für eine erfolgreiche Vermittlung nach einem besseren Verständnis der Arbeitsweise des Gehirns. Während die Linguistik und besonders die Fremdsprachendidaktik sich lange Zeit intensiv mit der vermeintlichen „Königsdisziplin“, der Grammatik, beschäftigt haben, war die Erforschung des (mentalen) Lexikon und besonders seines Erwerbs dagegen eher marginal angesiedelt und vor allem jüngeren Zeiten vorbehalten. Mittlerweile sind zahlreiche Publikationen erschienen, die Begriffe wie autonomes Lernen, Prozessorientierung oder Wortnetze in den Vordergrund stellen. Auch in modernen Lehrwerken lassen sich Aspekte dieser Modelle mal mehr, mal weniger deutlich wiedererkennen. Die Erforschung des mentalen Lexikons ist also aus den Kinderschuhen herausgewachsen und die eher rudimentäre Betrachtung der Arbeitsweise des menschlichen Gehirns ist inzwischen durch verschiedene Theorien erweitert worden. In dieser Arbeit soll jedoch nicht das mentale Lexikon selbst im Vordergrund stehen. Neuere Konzepte für den Fremdsprachenunterricht beruhen zwar auch auf seiner weiteren Erforschung, allerdings sollen an dieser Stelle neben psycholinguistischen Erkenntnissen auch fremdsprachendidaktische Konsequenzen Erwähnung finden. Auf den ersten, psycholinguistischen Teil folgt daher ein zweiter, stärker praxisorientierter Teil, in dem didaktische Anmerkungen zum Lexikerwerb gemacht werden.

For the first time ever, Katrin Siebel systematically explores the diverse field of multilingualism and its didactics, centring her study on one foreign language taught in schools in particular: Latin. Taking the example of Latin literary vocabulary, she demonstrates the extent to which Latin Studies can orient themselves to the present findings of relevant related disciplines (multilingual studies, studies of modern foreign languages and German as a second language). The promotion of receptive multilingualism as well as the explicit use of development strategies in Latin lessons can lead to synergy effects, which Latin Studies have long claimed to be a feature of the subject.
