It is enough to state that Astrology existed for many centuries prior to the Christian era, about which time it appears to have been taught chiefly by tradition, being handed down from father to by word of mouth. There is no good evidence of any perfect system of Astrology having been reduced to written rules, depending on mathematical principles, before the first century; though Sir Isaac Newton admits, that it was in existence nearly 900 years before that period. About 133 A.D. the celebrated astronomer, geographer, and astrologer, Claudius Ptolemy, compiled his notable work entitled 'The Tetrabiblos, or Quadripartite, being Four Books of the Influence of the Stars.' In this work he seems to have collected all that appeared of importance to him which was then known of the science; but as Ptolemy did not devote the whole of his time to this study, we may fairly suppose that some of the less important rules had not been tested by him personally, but were merely adopted as the current opinions of the day. The science of Astrology consists of four branches which are essentially different from each other: Nativities, or the art of foreseeing, from the figure of the heavens at the moment of birth, the future fate and character of individuals; Mundane Astrology, or the art of foreseeing, by the positions of the heavenly bodies at certain periods, the circumstances of nations, such as wars, pestilences, inundations, earthquakes etc. Atmospherical Astrology, or the art of foreseeing, by the positions of the planets at the periods of the Sun and Moon being in mutual aspect, and some other circumstances, the quality of the weather at any required time or place and Horary Astrology, or the art of foreseeing, by the positions of the heavens, at any period when an individual may be anxious about the matter, the result of any business or circumstance whatever. The Grammar of Astrology is intended to teach the principles of the science of nativities and to divest them of the trash which ignorant men have introduced, so that persons of an ordinary capacity and a common share of industry may examine and decide for themselves whether there is any truth in astrology or not.

This book is an English translation of Book 24 of the Astrologia Gallica, in which Morin explains the proper use of Transits to pinpoint the time when a predicted event will occur. He first criticizes the various types of symbolic directions used by other astrologers of his day and then sets forth his own method of prediction with numerous examples. The nature and time of an event in a person's life can be determined from his Natal Horoscope, its Primary Directions, Solar and Lunar Returns and their Primary Directions, and concordant Transits. By following the method that he sets forth, it is sometimes possible to determine the exact Day when the event signified by a radical Primary Direction will occur. Morin was a physician who became the most renowned of all French astrologers. He was appointed Royal Mathematician to King Louis XIII and was summoned to be present at the birth of the royal heir, the future King Louis XIV. The present volume also contains example charts drawn for the actual times of significant events in the lives of a number of 17th century celebrities; each chart is accompanied by a explanation of how the several factors combined to produce the events at the times shown. This highly specialized astrological application is ancient. It deals with specific questions and methods of answering these questions based on Tajik Yogas formed in the horoscope of that time at which the question was asked. The basis of the horary chart is the time when your question is put to the astrologer, and from this a map of the sky is erected. Personal details, such as your date, place and time of birth, are not needed and so, for those who do not have this information, horary provides a method of dealing with problems. Horary astrology has its own strict system. The position of and aspects to the moon are of prime importance. The person asking the question, or querent, is represented by the ruler of the first house in the horoscope formed at the time of question. Planetary aspects are considered more important than in other branches of astrology (although it is the planetary rulers of the houses in question that take precedent in analysis). Typically, a horary chart is read by first assigning the thing asked about, the quesited, to a particular house in the chart. For instance, asking "Where is my lost dog?" would be represented by the sixth house, as it is the house that governs small animals (traditionally, smaller than a goat). Whenever anyone who does not have his/her birth details approaches the Astrologer, in such case the astrologer makes his horary chart and answers his/her queries. Horary astrology is based on the notion that the question and intensity to find its answer arises in the mind as a result of the divine command and at that particular moment, the planetary locations in the cosmos remains favorable. Sometimes a native has the queries related to his/her relatives, friends or neighbors even without having their birth-details. Horary Astrology has the adequate and significant tools based on divine principles to answer even such questions. Horary Astrology has the ability to answer any question whether it is regarding the lost articles, return of the person from abroad or any place, the time to get cure of a sick person etc. This book gives vivid knowledge of not only the basic tenets of Horary Astrology but also explains the related planets, signs and houses for a specific query related to a particular subject.
