Und 2. Bande soviel kürzer ausgefallen sind als das für den dritten Band dürfte schwerlich in einer grösseren Korrektheit der beiden ersten Bände seinen Grund haben, sondern vielmehr darin, dass diese Verzeichnisse mit ganz wenigen Ausnahmen solche Fehler verbessern, die mir selbst beim Benutzen des ersten und zweiten Bandes aufgefallen waren. Zu dem zweiten druckfehler-verzeichnis des dritten Bandes aber habe ich selbst den kleinsten Teil beigetragen, die meisten Fehler sind mir von Benutzern des ajb mitgeteilt worden. Vielleicht darf man daraus den Schluss ziehen, dass der dritte Band des ajb von den Fachgenossen erheblich stärker benutzt worden ist als die beiden ersten Bände. So erfreulich diese Erscheinung sein würde, so unerfreulich bleibt die Tatsache, dass das zweite Verzeichnis 73 Fehler des dritten Bandes zu berichtigen hat. Unter diesen Fehlern sind freilich nur fünf (nämlich die auf den Seiten 12, 68, 154, 292, welche sich auf die zitierten Stellen beziehen, sechs weitere in den Referaten selbst enthaltene Druckfehler (nämlich die auf den Seiten 169, 289, 300, 307, 348, 425) wirken sinn entstellend während alle übrigen Fehler (mit Ausnahme von sieben im Register enthaltenen) derart sind, dass sie vom Leser sofort selbst gemerkt werden. Besonders stark ist die Zahl der in den holländischen Titeln enthaltenen Fehler, unter denen ein prinzipieller nämlich y statt ij allein fünfzehnmal wiederkehrt. Es bedarf wohl nicht erst der besonderen Versicherung, dass alles geschehen ist und ferner geschehen wird, um derartige Unrichtigkeiten moglichst zu vermeiden.
