Why Did Jesus Send Us The Holy Spirit written by George E. Hicks and has been published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-10-20 with Religion categories.

When I was pastoring a church in Canada, one of the members came to me, asking about the ministry of the Holy Spirit. He said that he had heard a lot of teaching about the Trinity, explanations about God the Father and God the Son (Jesus Christ), but very little about the Holy Spirit. When the subject of the Holy Spirit came up, the teaching was vague and very limited. As a result, he didn't understand what the Holy Spirit did. He knew that the Holy Spirit was part of the Trinity and was more or less God, but what did the Holy Spirit do? He didn't have the slightest idea. The purpose of this book is not to write a thesis on the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. I want it to be a practical book explaining the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives in such a way that He is no longer seen as a mysterious or mystical "force" and becomes known as a person (God) acting in and guiding our lives in a way that we can understand. The Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity. We all (at least the born-again believer in Christ should) know that God the Father is seated on His throne in Heaven and controls everything that happens in the universe. We know that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was born in Bethlehem of Judea, grew up, walked on this earth, and died on the cross of Calvary in our place for our sins, and today is seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us. Today He is our advocate before the Father. And the Holy Spirit? Today I believe that the ignorance about the Holy Spirit is partially the fault of us, as pastors, who have not taught what we know to be our responsibility: teaching what the Bible says about the ministries of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. I hope to change this problem with this book!

Salvation Accomplished By The Son written by Robert A. Peterson and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-06-17 with Religion categories.

In this unique and insightful work, Robert Peterson insists that we look afresh at all that the Bible teaches about who our Savior is and what he has accomplished, with the conviction that a careful examination of this teaching will lead us to adoration and worship. Peterson explains the saving work of Christ, both his deeds and the biblical pictures illustrating them, and thereby points to the magnitude of what Jesus did to save sinners. Offered here is a substantive, significant, and enduring treatise on a key Christian doctrine—the work of Christ.

You have a calling, but you also have a “sending.” A calling is a familiar idea. People search for their true calling, hoping to find what they were made to do, eager to fulfill their life’s purpose. Let God Send reminds us that regardless of our individual vocation, we are always sent people, propelled by God’s Spirit into the world to serve others. This sent-ness comes from the very nature of God who is always on the move in our world. Jesus was sent. The Holy Spirit is sent. Abraham and Moses were sent. The first disciples became sent-ones as well. The journeyers in the biblical narrative show us that when God sends, the path is never clear or direct. Being sent can be daunting, disconcerting, and disorienting. We can feel under-qualified, under-educated, or unprepared. But none of our hesitancy changes the reality that a life of following Jesus is a life of being sent out. Using strong biblical narratives and questions for reflection or group discussion, Matt Brough guides us into an examination of what holds us back from making a move, how to go in a humble and listening way, and ultimately what each disciple of Jesus is called to do in our going. Let God Send is a straightforward, plainspoken plea for people who follow Jesus to get moving.
