एक दोपहर अटलजी और दीनदयालजी जमीन पर चटाई बिछाकर लेट गए। वहीं सिराहने कुछ ईंटें रखी हुई थीं। दोनों ने उन्हीं ईंटों को तकिए की तरह अपने सिर के नीचे लगा लिया। उस समय भारत प्रेस के हिसाब-किताब का काम श्री राधेश्याम कपूरजी देखा करते थे। वैसे तो उनकी अमीनाबाद में अपनी दुकान भी थी, लेकिन वे उसमें कम ही बैठते, क्योंकि उनका दिल तो भारत प्रेस में ही लगा रहता था।...तो अचानक वे आ गए और दोनों को ऐसे सोता देख द्रवित हो उठे, जबकि सच तो यह है कि अटलजी और दीनदयालजी को किसी भी प्रकार का कोई कष्ट महसूस ही नहीं हुआ था, वे दोनों तो थकान के बाद की नींद का आनंद ले रहे थे। बाद में तो यह अकसर ही होने लगा। कोई भी सोता तो उन्हीं ईंटों का तकिया लगा लेता। उन दिनों संघ की शाखा में रोज कबड्डी खेली जाती थी। अटलजी को भी कबड्डी खेलना बड़ा अच्छा लगता था, लेकिन वे ठीक से खेल ही नहीं पाते थे। खेल के नियम तो सारे जानते थे, लेकिन दरअसल कारण यह था कि उन दिनों वे बहुत दुबले-पतले हुआ करते थे, इसलिए वे जिसके भी पाले में आते, उस पाले के स्वयंसेवक अपना सिर पकड़ लेते। —इसी संग्रह से भारत रत्न अटलजी जननायक थे, कवि-साहित्यकार थे, सबको साथ लेकर चलने की अद्भुत क्षमता लिये संवेदना से भरपूर एक महान् विभूति थे। उनकी स्मृतियाँ सँजोने का एक विनम्र उपक्रम है यह पुस्तक, जो पाठकों को प्रेरित करेगी। Atalji Ki Prerak Kahaniyan by Dr. Rashmi: Immerse yourself in the inspirational stories of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee with this book by Dr. Rashmi.
