We live in a world of radical hypocrisy...Priests, Terrorists and Christian Evangelists use iPhones...access satellite Networks...drive automobiles and seem to exist in some kind of imaginary bubble untouched by reality. How is this possible? How can such a large number of people both demand modern technology while still refusing to listen to the very people who brought it to them? In an age of motor cars, electric light bulbs and rockets to the moon, more than half the world still insists on keeping their faith in God, even while the most rational minds are calling this behavior dangerous, archaic and possibly insane. Perhaps this is something we should talk about. But is anyone listening? Perhaps I should say it louder...Book features a variety of essays, both humorous and serious on the issues of Atheism, Marketing, Hypocrisy, Seduction, Religion, Psychology of Belief, New Atheism, Failures of Buddhism, The Templeton Prize, Beyond Sartre's Reef of Solipsism, and other mildly poetic thoughts.

The recent rise of the New Atheism has aroused great general interest, thrown up questions of fundamental importance, and started a fascinating conversation. Why God Won't Go Away invites us to join in. The volume opens with a survey of the main ideas of the New Atheism, as expressed in the works of Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens. We then examine the core views of the movement closely, making due reference to its 'virtual community' of websites and blogs. Subjects explored include: whether religion is delusional and evil, the belief that human beings are fundamentally good, whether we should have faith only in what can be proved through reason and science, the idea that the best hope for humanity is a 'New Enlightenment' The result is a lively and highly thought-provoking volume that poses a number of interesting questions. Why is religion experiencing a resurgence in the twenty-first century, when we are meant to have grown out of such a primitive fixation? Has the New Atheism's fascination with rationality led to a fatal underestimation of the longing of the human heart to adore? And if, as Christopher Hitchens writes in exasperation, religion is 'ineradicable', doesn't this tiresome fact suggest that dismissing belief in God as irrational and unscientific might just be a waste of time?

Fighting God written by David Silverman and has been published by Macmillan this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-12-01 with Religion categories.

Fighting God is a firebrand manifesto from one of the most recognizable faces of atheism. In his book, Silverman-a walking, talking atheist billboard known for his appearances on Fox News-discusses the effectiveness, ethics and impact of the in-your-face-atheist who refuses to be silent. Silverman argues that religion is more than just wrong: it is malevolent and does not deserve our respect. It is our duty to be outspoken and do what we can to bring religion down. Examining the mentality, methods and issues facing the firebrand atheist, Silverman presents an overwhelming argument for firebrand atheism and reveals: - All religion is cafeteria religion and almost all agnostics are atheists. - American society grants religion a privileged status, despite the intentions of the Founding Fathers. - Christian politicians have adversely (and un-Constitutionally) affected our society with regard to science, health, women's rights, and gay rights. - The notion of "atheist Jews" is a lie forced on us by religion. - It is not "Islamophobia" to observe dangerous teachings and disproportionate violence in Islam. - Atheists are slowly but surely winning the battle. Fighting God is a provocative, unapologetic book that takes religion to task and will give inspiration to non-believers and serve as the ultimate answer to apologists.

What if the core arguments for atheism reveal that God actually exists? With a rising dependence on science and rational thought in today’s culture, religion is often dismissed as “outdated” or “illogical” and atheism is gaining a wider audience. But award-winning author Dr. Frank Turek provides a strong case for how atheists steal logic, reasoning, evidence and science from God in order to support their claims. A result of careful study, Stealing from God exposes the intellectual crimes atheists are committing by taking a closer look at: Causality—how did the universe originate? Reason—what does atheism mean for truth? Information & Intentionality—God’s signature in creation Morality—objective morality without God Evil—is evil a contradiction for atheism? Science—how theism makes science possible And a powerful 4-point case for Christianity No matter your stance on religion or atheism, this book will prove a thought-provoking and compelling read. With clear, well-researched arguments, Stealing from God is a refreshing resource to bolster your faith, help you engage with those who disagree, and open your eyes to the truth of religion and atheism. “An unassailable case for the truth of Christianity.” —Eric Metaxas, New York Times bestselling author “Provides powerful and clear answers to questions of enduring importance for every thinking person.” —Dr. John Lennox, professor of mathematics at Oxford University “Will change the way you think about the world and equip you to defend what you believe.” —J. Warner Wallace, author of Cold-Case Christianity

In God and the New Atheism, a world expert on science and theology gives clear, concise, and compelling answers to the charges against religion laid out in recent best-selling books by Richard Dawkins (The God Delusion), Sam Harris (The End of Faith), and Christopher Hitchens (God Is Not Great). For some, these "new atheists" appear to say extremely well what they believe to be wrong with religion. But, as John Haught shows, the treatment of religion in these books is riddled with logical inconsistencies, shallow misconceptions, and crude generalizations. Can God really be dismissed as a mere delusion? Is faith really the enemy of reason? And does religion really poison everything? God and the New Atheism offers a much-needed antidote to the extremist claims of scientific fundamentalism. This provocative and accessible little book will enable readers to see through the rhetorical fog of this recent phenomenon and come to a clearer understanding of the issues at stake in this crucial debate.

Is your worldview enlightened enough to accommodate both science and God at the same time? Dr. Michael Guillen, a best-selling author, Emmy award–winning journalist and former physics instructor at Harvard, used to be an Atheist—until science changed his mind. Once of the opinion that people of faith are weak, small-minded folks who just don’t understand science, Dr. Guillen ultimately concluded that not only does science itself depend on faith, but faith is actually the mightiest power in the universe. In Believing Is Seeing, Dr. Guillen recounts the fascinating story of his journey from Atheism to Christianity, citing the latest discoveries in neuroscience, physics, astronomy, and mathematics to pull back the curtain on the mystery of faith as no one ever has. Is it true that “seeing is believing?” Or is it possible that reality can be perceived most clearly with the eyes of faith—and that truth is bigger than proof? Let Dr. Guillen be your guide as he brilliantly argues for a large and enlightened worldview consistent with both God and modern science.

The End Of Reason written by Ravi Zacharias and has been published by Harper Collins this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008 with Religion categories.

When you pray, are you talking to a God who exists? Or is God nothing more than your 'imaginary friend,' like a playmate contrived by a lonely and imaginative child? When author Sam Harris attacked Christianity in Letter to a Christian Nation, reviewers called the book 'marvelous' and a generation of readers---hundreds of thousands of them---were drawn to his message. Deeply troubled, Dr. Ravi Zacharias knew that he had to respond. In The End of Reason, Zacharias underscores the dependability of the Bible along with his belief in the power and goodness of God. He confidently refutes Harris's claims that God is nothing more than a figment of one's imagination and that Christians regularly practice intolerance and hatred around the globe. If you found Sam Harris's Letter to a Christian Nation compelling, the book you are holding is exactly what you need. Dr. Zacharias exposes 'the utter bankruptcy of this worldview.' And if you haven't read Harris' book, Ravi's response remains a powerful, passionate, irrefutably sound set of arguments for Christian thought. The clarity and hope in these pages reach out to readers who know and follow God as well as to those who reject God.

Atheism is a subject that draws a lot of controversy into today's society. People are now starting to doubt the existence of God because of all the advancements in modern science and technology that explain many of life's questions. With that being said, there is still a lot of confusion out there about atheism and what its belief system actually is. The only thing that people seem to know is that it is the disbelief in God, but it actually goes much deeper than that. In fact, there are different types of atheists who don't all act the same way about their disbelief. Some of them are open to new scientific evidence that proves them wrong while others are simply determined to not believe in God no matter what. In this book you will not only learn about the general concept of atheism and its effect on the world, but you will also learn about the different types of atheists as well. Religious followers tend to think of atheists as "devil worshippers" and other nonsensical things. The reality is atheists are just people who believe is something that is not supernatural or superhuman. The religious community only holds their "devil" belief about atheists because it contradicts their own religion. But what the religious community fails to realize is that there are many different religions and faiths in the world that all have their own belief system. The actions a person commits in one religion will be offensive to some other religion in the world. Therefore, there is no way to make people of all faiths happy and satisfied. There will always be some group of people out there who gets offended by what you belief and what you do. So if you want to be an atheist then no one should feel afraid to be open about it. Atheism won't even take much time out of your day because there are no churches or group organizations to go to worship atheist beliefs. Another reason this book was written was because atheists travel a very lonely road. Sure there are some forums on the internet where you can chat with other atheists, but in your regular life there is nowhere you can go to meet up with other atheists. After all, how many atheists do you know in your regular life? You could probably count the number on one hand. Fortunately, anyone can celebrate being an atheist by simply waking up in the morning and asking themselves what is real to them and what is not. If they are still convinced that God is not real then they will be satisfied with that belief and go about their day. This book on Atheism is not meant to ridicule or put down anyone else's faith. Instead, it was written to actually help people of all faiths to better understand atheism and the viewpoints of atheists around the world. The world is very diverse as it pertains to people's religious beliefs. Many of the wars taking place around the world are formed from the basis of these beliefs. Hopefully, this book will show people of all religions that there is another belief system out there that does not indoctrinate or persecute anyone. Contents: -Preface -My experience with god -What is atheism -Types of atheism -Atheist philosophies -Why god is evil -Morality vs. religion -Do you need religion to be nice -Atheist criticisms of religion -Proof that there is no god -Religious people are less intelligent than atheists -Nonsense from the bible -Reasons for being an atheist! Why choose atheism -Atheism in the USA -Conclusion

If you don't understand the reason for unbelief, you don't understand the reason for belief. This book is NOT a how-to guide for winning debates with non-believers, or trying to convince atheists there is a God. I spent a decade as an apologist arguing and debating with thousands of unbelievers. I've witnessed hundreds of formal debates between Christians vs atheists, and the one thing that remained unchanged at the end of the day is atheists were still atheists. Nothing changed. Why? There's a reason atheists aren't convinced. It's not because of a lack of evidence for God as they claim. Trying to convince atheists with evidence only presents them with more of what they reject. When a Christian tries to prove God, or rationalize one out of atheism, they do not understand the underlying reason why atheists don't believe. Are atheists asking questions and confronting Christians because they are seeking God? No! Atheists are seeking justification for unbelief. Christians unknowingly give them justification for unbelief by entering The Courtroom of Atheism and answering atheists on their terms. Trying to prove God to one that doesn't believe in God will ultimately give the non-believer justification for unbelief. In this book you'll discover why Christians should never try to prove God to an unbeliever. Doing so demonstrates the Christian disagrees with scripture. You'll also learn the hidden agenda behind the purpose for interrogating Christians. Most importantly, Christians will learn why debating non-believers, and trying to reason with atheists will not bring them to Christ. Far too often people of faith attempt to argue with atheists in hopes to bring them out of atheism only to end up doubting their faith. Why does this happen? If you are curious, this book is for you.
