Atom Molecule And Cluster Beams Ii written by Hans Pauly and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000-09-27 with Medical categories.

This book completes the physical foundations and experimental techniques described in volume 1 with an updated review of the accessory equipment indispensable in molecular beam experiments. It extends the subject to cluster beams and beams of hyperthermal and subthermal energies. As in volume 1, a special effort is made to outline the physical foundations of the various experimental techniques. Hence this book is intended not only as a reference standard for researchers in the field, but also to bring the flavor of current molecular beam research to advanced undergraduates and graduate students and to enable them to gain a solid background in the field and its technique.

Atom Optics written by Pierre Meystre and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001-09-21 with Science categories.

Quantum mechanics does away with the distinction between particles and waves, and one of the more interesting implications of the wave/particle duality - the discovery that atoms may be manipulated in ways analogous to the manipulation of light with lenses and mirrors - has formed the basis for the relatively new field of atom optics. Pierre Meystre's Atom Optics is the first book entirely devoted to this exciting area of research. Reference links to the leading journals in the field, links to research sites, graphics, and updates can be found online.

Relativistic Quantum Theory Of Atoms And Molecules written by Ian P Grant and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-04-15 with Science categories.

This book is intended for physicists and chemists who need to understand the theory of atomic and molecular structure and processes, and who wish to apply the theory to practical problems. As far as practicable, the book provides a self-contained account of the theory of relativistic atomic and molecular structure, based on the accepted formalism of bound-state Quantum Electrodynamics. The author was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of London in 1992.

Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy is a wide-ranging review of modern spectroscopic techniques such as X-ray, photoelectron, optical and laser spectroscopy, as well as radiofrequency and microwave techniques. On the fundamental side, it focuses on physical principles and the impact of spectroscopy on our understanding of the building blocks of matter, while in the area of applications particular attention is paid to chemical analysis, photochemistry, surface characterisation, environmental and medical diagnostics, remote sensing and astrophysics. The third edition also provides the reader with an update on laser cooling and trapping, Bose-Einstein condensation, ultrafast spectroscopy, high-power laser/matter interaction, satellite-based astronomy and spectroscopic aspects of laser medicine.

Many Particle Quantum Dynamics In Atomic And Molecular Fragmentation written by Joachim Ullrich and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-06-29 with Science categories.

This book aims to give a comprehensive view on the present status of a tremendously fast-developing field - the quantum dynamics of fragmenting many-particle Coulomb systems. In striking contrast to the profound theo retical knowledge, achieved from extremely precise experimental results on the static atomic and molecular structure, it was only three years ago when the three-body fundamental dynamical problem of breaking up the hydro gen atom by electron impact was claimed to be solved in a mathematically consistent way. Until now, more "complicated", though still fundamental scenarios, ad dressing the complete fragmentation of the "simplest" many-electron system, the helium atom, under the action of a time-dependent external force, have withstood any consistent theoretical description. Exceptions are the most "trivial" situations where the breakup is induced by the impact of a single real photon or of a virtual photon under a perturbation caused by fast, low charged particle impact. Similarly, the dissociation of the "simplest" molecu lar systems like Ht or HD+, fragmentating in collisions with slow electrons, or the H3 molecule breaking apart into two or three" pieces" as a result of a single laser-photon excitation, establish a major challenge for state-of-the-art theoretical approaches.

Turbulent Particle Laden Gas Flows written by Aleksei Y. Varaksin and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-07-05 with Science categories.

Results are given of experimental and theoretical studies of "gas-solid particles" turbulent two-phase flows. Special emphasis is placed on studies of the behavior of particles suspended in a turbulent gas flow and their feedback effect on the characteristics of flow of the carrier phase. The characteristics of heterogeneous flows in channels (pipes) are analyzed, as well as those in the vicinity of the critical points of bodies subjected to flow and in the boundary layer developing on their surface. Problems of physical simulation of turbulent gas flows which carry solid particles are treated in detail. This monograph will be useful for researchers involved in investigations of gas dynamics and heat and mass transfer in multiphase flows, as well as for university professors, post-graduate students, and students.

Phase Transitions Of Simple Systems written by Boris M. Smirnov and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-10-24 with Science categories.

This monograph develops a unified microscopic basis for phases and phase changes of bulk matter and small systems, based on classical physics. It describes the thermodynamics of ensembles of particles and explains phase transition in gaseous and liquid systems. The origins are derived from simple but physically relevant models of how transitions occur between rigid and fluid states, of how phase equilibria arise, and how they differ for small and large systems.
