Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Didaktik für das Fach Französisch - Literatur, Werke, Note: Sehr gut, Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (Romanistik), Veranstaltung: Neuere frankokanadische Literatur, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: [...] Eine Möglichkeit unter vielen wäre beispielsweise ein Buch darüber zu schreiben und sich mit der Frage zu beschäftigen, wohin einen das Leben führt, wenn man sich dazu entschließt, seine wahre Identität und somit seine Wurzeln im Leben zu suchen. Ausgehend von der Identitätsproblematik vieler QuébecerInnen schildert Nicolas Dickner in seinem Roman Nikolski die Schwierigkeit der Identitätsfindung, nämlich wenn es darum geht, seine familiären Wurzeln zu finden, um in weiterer Folge die wohl wichtigste Frage, nämlich „Wer bin ich“, beantworten zu können. Die Gründe, weshalb es sich bei der Provinz Québec um eine von Identitätskrisen geplagte Nation handelt, sollen im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit behandelt werden. Anhand der von mir ausgewählten Sekundärliteratur möchte ich sowohl einen historisch-politischen Überblick über die quebécische Geschichte in den 1980er und 90er geben, als auch eine kurze Definition über Identität aufzeigen. Der Roman Nikolski und dessen Autor Nicolas Dickner sollen in einem anschließenden zweiten Teil vorgestellt werden. Eine biographische Übersicht des Autors, eine kurze inhaltliche Zusammenfassung des Romans und auch ein kleiner Einblick in dessen Struktur, Stil und Erzählstil runden diesen Abschnitt ab. Der dritte Teil meiner Seminararbeit, welcher zugleich das Hauptthema darstellen soll, widmet sich der Identitätsproblematik in Nikolski. Es soll aufgezeigt werden, inwiefern die Protagonisten dieses Romans unter der Frage nach der eigenen Identität zu leiden haben und inwiefern die familiären Wurzeln diesbezüglich eine Rolle spielen. Eine abschließende Konklusion im vierten Teil dieser Arbeit soll die wesentlichen Erkenntnisse zusammenfassen und die Frage beantworten, ob die Suche nach dem Ich in Dickners Roman ein gutes Ende genommen hat.
