Facharbeit (Schule) aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Latein, Note: 1,3, , Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die wichtigsten Inhalte der Ehegesetze des Augustus erörtert. Zudem wird Ovid ́s Werk Ars Amatoria analysiert und in Kontext zum Lex Iulia de martiandis ordinibus und Lex Iulia de adulteriis, als auch zum Sittenskandal der Iulia gestellt. Ziel ist es, einzuordnen zu können, inwiefern das literarische Werk Ovids, die Gesetzgebung Augustus ́ als auch der Sittenskandal miteinander verwoben sind. Nachdem der Autor Publius Ovidius Naso, genannt Ovid, im Jahr 8 n. Chr. vom damaligen Princeps Gaius Octavius, bekannt als Augustus, nach Tomi verbannt wird, nennt er in seiner Exildichtung Tristia II carmen et error, also das Lied und der Irrtum, als Grund für sein Exil. Mit Carmen könnte seine Ars Amatoria, die Kunst des Liebens, gemeint sein. Diese Dichtung ist damals ein sehr erfolgreiches Werk, das sich als „erotisches Lehrgedicht“ versteht. Allerdings scheint Ovid mit dem Inhalt dieses Gedichts auch die Ehegesetze des Augustus, genau genommen die Lex Iulia de adulteriis sowie die Lex Iulia de martiandis ordinibus, mal offensichtlich und mal mit Zweideutigkeit zu kritisieren. Wie kritisch die damalige Situation für den Autor zu betrachten ist, hängt natürlich auch von der Sichtweise des amtierenden Princeps selbst ab. Wie verhielt sich also Augustus im Allgemeinen gegenüber den Menschen in seinem Umfeld, wenn es um seine Ehre sowie sein Verständnis von Moral ging? Wie provokant ist die Ars Amatoria tatsächlich aufzufassen und was hat es mit dem „Geheimnis des error“ auf sich? Was sich beim Sittenskandal wohl ereignet haben muss und ob eine mögliche Mitverwicklung Ovids wirklich als ausschlaggebend für die Verbannung angesehen werden kann, soll im Folgenden erörtert werden.

In dieser Arbeit werden jedoch erstmalig die philologischen Ergebnisse, die sich aus einer Untersuchung der Fasti Ovids ergeben, an den althistorischen und rechtshistorischen Daten der Zeit gemessen und zu einem in sich stimmigen Ergebnis geführt. Diese aus dem synchronen Zusammenhang gewonnene These wird anhand der Briefe des Dichters aus der Verbannung verifiziert.

Our sources for this information range from surviving graffiti to literary works with a marked sexual content.
