Como a universidade pública paulista implementou a autonomia reconhecida pelo Estado em 1989? Embora a Universidade tenha considerado quase sempre o aspecto financeiro do decreto de 1989, ele pode ser, ainda, uma referência para que a instituição modifique sua gestão. São tratados temas como a gratuidade, o processo de nomeação de dirigentes, a flexibilidade dos contratos de trabalho, a avaliação, a representação externa e a prestação de contas, que definirão o modelo organizacional adequado para enfrentar os desafios à universidade no século XXI.

This book analyzes regional integration in South America with a focus on the Mercosur and Brazilian foreign policy from the 1990s. It reviews the history of the Mercosur and identifies the results achieved by the bloc, as well as the causes of difficulties and the reasons for stalemates over nearly 30 years of its existence. The authors identify the complex interrelation between domestic and foreign factors that have shaped Brazilian foreign policy. From 1991 onwards, relations between Latin American countries have changed while the Mercosur developed from a free trade area to a customs union. While intrabloc trade grew, there were huge difficulties in the form of regional institutional affirmation and cooperation. This history is of the utmost importance to understanding regionalism and politics in Latin America. The book therefore has two interrelated analytical dimensions: namely, focus on ideas and identity; and behavior, actions, and economic and political interests. This very topical book is of interest for researchers and students of Brazilian foreign policy and those of Latin American and/or Mercosur countries. Do núcleo inicial, formado em 2018, a Rede JIM ganhou novas adesões, realizou quatro seminários nacionais, e publicou o livro 1968: de maio a dezembro: Jornalismo, Imaginário e Memória. O trabalho coletivo e interdisciplinar é a razão de ser da rede, que se vê como lugar de diálogo, troca de ideias e construção de reflexões que colaborem para decifrar a complexa contemporaneidade. Os artigos que compõem este livro foram apresentados inicialmente no seminário, realizado em outubro de 2019, na UFF, em Niterói, Rio de Janeiro. Em 1969 a 1970: janelas do tempo, os autores se dispõem a contar histórias, a partir de uma abordagem científica, isto é, há um pacto com a averiguação das informações, checagem de dados, um compromisso com a verdade. Não se trata de ficção. Mas há também o envolvimento com as investigações, que se fundam em uma opção teórica, que não é servil apenas aos senhores da razão, mas que reverencia o encantamento ancestral da narrativa, as muitas dobras da história, os labirintos da memória e a potência do imaginário como força revolucionária e fundadora. A leitura convocada pelos autores é, enfim, este convite à partilha de fragmentos do mundo, que falam por si, mas especialmente falam através de nós.
