Baby Boomer Lamentations is a book of honesty for all seventy-six million baby boomers born from 1946 to 1965. It is not about the health, wealth, and happiness in old age that we see in those sleek magazines about retirement. Instead, this is an exploration of the metaphysics of aging in America, something unpleasant to contemplate but inevitable. The fact is that aging baby boomers and their families who are not prepared for the changes that are coming will have to meet them anyway. So you better have a firm and reliable belief system to handle the impact of this new reality the aging baby boomers now are imposing on the American economy. Author Lewis Tagliaferre brings a lifetime of personal experience from the untimely loss of his wife and the recovery process in his own family to this book. His is a different, contrarian perspective on life that employs many different approaches for attaining human maturity including psychology, religion, science, and anthropology. The result is the development of the five principles of Theofatalism to help baby boomers meet the challenges of aging in America. The principles of Theofatalism were developed from spiritual encounters in Sedona, Arizona. Aging is like walking a labyrinth where there is no choice but to take the pathway that is perhaps provided by God, the almighty One.

Today there are approximately seventy-six million Americans who were born in the years from 1946 to 1965 the baby boomers. In their youth they thrived, voting for a number of entitlements based on assumptions of economic growth that no longer applies. Now, as baby boomers continue aging, they must face a number of potentially disheartening realities. From caring for ailing parents to funding their retirement to facing death, many issues weigh too heavily upon the minds of the baby boomer generation to allow for a peaceful, productive second half of life. What's more, many of the spiritual belief systems passed down for so many generations no longer provide the comfort or support people need in order to face the challenges of the later half of life. The people need something new. In this second edition of Baby Boomer Lamentations, author and self-proclaimed religious philosopher Lewis Tagliaferre explores the concept of Theofatalism and addresses the rising spiritual concerns of the baby boomers, offering a new outlook to help readers make the inevitable transitions through the later years of life.

Ask any Baby Boomer and they will tell you they were 'the best years of our lives!' Despite the Cold War, the Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs, the Cuban Missile Crisis, Korea and Vietnam and, oh, a ferociously funny mother, the late 1940's, 50's and early 60's were Boomer Halcyon Days. Baby Boomer, Tales of a 'Boomer' Childhood at the Arse End of the World, is an Australian Baby Boomer story that will delight in its memories of long summer days, and personal freedom that people today can only dream about. Boomer youngsters were able to run and play without supervision almost anywhere with no concerns other than playing and enjoying friends and family. It also honours parents and a simpler time and highlights those awkward, growing and changing years. Self deprecating, Gerard Thompson is journalist who grew up in Hobart, Tasmania, at the bottom of Australia. Today, he recalls those memories from more tropical climes - South East Queensland. If you are a Baby Boomer, you will love the memories this read will reignite. If you are from another generation, it will tell you about a precious time in our modern evolution. You will love this light hearted, funny read about one Baby Boomer's unusual story.

This book of verse is about the shared experiences and observations of the baby boomers. You come into this world and suddenly, or what seems like suddenly - forty, fifty, sixty years later, you find yourself trying to figure out what makes you think and feel the way you do. This book is my way of connecting some of the dots - NASA, Johnny Carson, Crayons, War, Love, Dylan, Trigonometry, Veterans, Soap Operas, Orlando, Beatles, and more than a handful of pieces about automobiles and the environment. You may find yourself remembering what you are happy to recall, and perhaps recalling what you were hoping to forget. Some pieces are therapeutic, others humorous, some sad, a number opinionated, but I hope you will find them all meaningful - worth keeping around and taking a look at now and then. This book may tie a few loose threads together for you, and loosen a few others. So it is with memories.

Down From The Mountain written by Brian Vickery and has been published by Xlibris Corporation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-07-16 with History categories.

The book was written to record the history of Brian's father and his uncles. They all joined the Second World War together and Brian thought that their service should not go unrecorded - it was intended to be a short history but led itself into Brian's life when he unexpectedly found himself drafted into an Army that he had no interest in joining - the Army however provided a dimension for Brian that he had never visualized and provided the experiences and friendships that can only be achieved through hardship and common deprivation. These experiences were thought worthy of being included in the book for the purpose of providing a more complete history of Brian's family with particular emphasis on the way he viewed a thirteen month tour of Vietnam and how it affected him. The path Brian took was the same as many who were born during post war years hence the term Baby Boomers.

BOOMER: A Boomer or Baby Boomer is a popular term used to describe the generation born at the end of WW11 between the years 1946 and 1964 when massive military troops returned home from war and as a result there was a Boom in the birth of babies. Boomers make up over twenty percent of the United States population. The topic for this short story came about as a reflection of my childhood years on a remote farm in Central Washington. Contemplation of my youthful experiences brought forth a tidal wave of memories, which were both profound and noteworthy. The emotions that sprang back to life seemed to justify a story be developed, written, and shared. This retrospection caused me to internalize those things which were important to me in later years. As the layers of my memory peeled back, the era and topic of the book became clear. It was a warm, loving, and pivotal time in my youth-one in which I transitioned from a reckless city lifestyle to one that was characterized by strict discipline and military-style regimentation on the farm. The story is a period of my past that I reflect upon to this day and feel good about. I was inspired and motivated by Grandparents and a supportive uncle, both that had my best interest and warmth of heart in mind. The familial research for the story reached back to what was then called the Old Country, Russia, Ellis Island, the Dakotas, Montana, Oklahoma, Washington, and Oregon. Little did I know that my research would also delve into geography, immigration, migration, pandemics, epidemics, watersheds, the nuclear arms race, pollution, politics, and human bonding. I spent a good deal of time on this manuscript and came to the stark realization that it's not the length of the story but the depth of introspection and the story that is born. For me, there was an inverse relationship between the two. Writing this story was a surprise and an emotional roller-coaster ride for me. The writing process was a paradox, which was both painful and loving. As you read the pages of the book, look deep into your own past with your mind wide open and allow your memories to flow forward. My hope is that the reader is able to relive the innocence of their youth initiated by the thoughts on the following pages. Let the gray matter awaken and the journey begins.

The book consists of 47 poems written by a baby boomer on various topics that are common with other baby boomers: family, friends, jobs, music, sports, community, current affairs, and the like. I think most baby boomers and their families can relate to the various topics presented.
