Way It Usta Wuz is Bob Taylor's seventh book. Unlike his previous writings, mostly of a military theme, Bob reaches back several decades to the Old South farm on which he was raised during the Post-Depression era of the 1930s and 40s, in the fictitious community of Brothersville, not far from Augusta, Georgia and Tobacco Road. This book attempts to validate the horror felt by many of the citizens of Brothersville in those days. Those who were down and dirty in the trenches, as they struggled from day to day. They were Down. Maybe downhearted is a better word. Regardless of how much they loved their families and wanted a better life for them, they had little assurance tomorrow would be better and they'd be better able to provide food, pay taxes, and supply medical needs. They were Dirty. As much as a long-term outlook affected their states of mind, the grimy dust and the dusty grime amassed from hours in sun-baked fields affected their physical selves. Sunup to dark they worked, leaving little time to walk down to the creek to soothe their exhausted bodies, and then trudge back for supper in hopes of finding enough left from dinner. They had the same likes and dislikes, the same wishes, desires, and the same hopes as those who lived on The Hill in Augusta. It was a stretch think they could ever get there. They tried. Some succeeded; most fell along the way.

There are various arguments for the metaphysical impossibility of time travel. Is it impossible because objects could then be in two places at once? Or is it impossible because some objects could bring about their own existence? In this book, Nikk Effingham contends that no such argument is sound and that time travel is metaphysically possible. His main focus is on the Grandfather Paradox: the position that time travel is impossible because someone could not go back in time and kill their own grandfather before he met their grandmother. In such a case, Effingham argues that the time traveller would have the ability to do the impossible (so they could kill their grandfather) even though those impossibilities will never come about (so they won't kill their grandfather). He then explores the ramifications of this view, discussing issues in probability and decision theory. The book ends by laying out the dangers of time travel and why, even though no time machines currently exist, we should pay extra special care ensuring that nothing, no matter how small or microscopic, ever travels in time.
