Stories and wisdom of the Barbershop Chronicles as you hear from instructors like T-Bone, Shaquanita, Hassan, and others. You will learn lessons on what life has taught some whom you may never meet. Perhaps you will reflect on, pick up, and be willing to make adjustments to your game plan. You may realize that your idea is good, but it leaves out God, and that you have moved hastily because God has not moved fast enough for you. We never lose in life. We either WIN or apply the wisdom that we have learned. Move forward in faith and not in speculation, foolishness, or without consulting wise people. Remember, you don't want to miss the lessons that life teaches you. If you do, the school for a stubborn fool will be waiting for you, or you will die first. Time is something that we can never get back, and all we have is now. So read this book at your own risk. It is for grown folks. You may be too young to understand.

1988: at four-years-old, he short-circuited his home with a silver spoon and a Betamax video player. 1989: stopped a 700-strong student assembly with a tantrum. 1995: was chased through jungle growth by a crazed, frustrated French teacher called Monsieur Batcock...Misfit? Apparently – until a little family research reveals a pattern of mischief reaching as far back as a great grandfather, and so the story begins: I'm from a long line of trouble makers, of ash skinned Africans, born with clenched fists and a natural thirst for battle only quenched by breast milk. They'd suckle as if the white silk sliding between gums were liquid peace treaties from mums. The 14th Tale is a beautiful mellifluous narrative that tells the hilarious exploits of a natural born mischief, growing from the clay streets of Nigeria to rooftops in Dublin and finally to London by award-winning writer and performer Inua Ellams.

The Barber Of Damascus written by Dana Sajdi and has been published by Stanford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-10-09 with History categories.

This book is about a barber, Shihab al-Din Ahmad Ibn Budayr, who shaved and coiffed, and probably circumcised and healed, in Damascus in the 18th century. The barber may have been a "nobody," but he wrote a history book, a record of the events that took place in his city during his lifetime. Dana Sajdi investigates the significance of this book, and in examining the life and work of Ibn Budayr, uncovers the emergence of a larger trend of history writing by unusual authors—people outside the learned establishment—and a new phenomenon: nouveau literacy. The Barber of Damascus offers the first full-length microhistory of an individual commoner in Ottoman and Islamic history. Contributing to Ottoman popular history, Arabic historiography, and the little-studied cultural history of the 18th century Levant, the volume also examines the reception of the barber's book a century later to explore connections between the 18th and the late 19th centuries and illuminates new paths leading to the Nahda, the Arab Renaissance.
