Basic Monotonicity Methods With Some Applications written by Marek Galewski and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-09-01 with Mathematics categories.
This textbook introduces some basic tools from the theory of monotone operators together with some of their applications. Examples that work for ordinary differential equations are provided. The illustrating material is kept relatively simple, while at the same time offering inspiring applications to the reader. The material will appeal to graduate students in mathematics who want to learn some basics in the theory of monotone operators. Furthermore, it offers a smooth transition to studying more advanced topics pertaining to more refined applications by shifting to pseudomonotone operators, and next, to multivalued monotone operators.

Methods Of Nonlinear Analysis written by Pavel Drabek and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-01-18 with Mathematics categories.
In this book, fundamental methods of nonlinear analysis are introduced, discussed and illustrated in straightforward examples. Each method considered is motivated and explained in its general form, but presented in an abstract framework as comprehensively as possible. A large number of methods are applied to boundary value problems for both ordinary and partial differential equations. In this edition we have made minor revisions, added new material and organized the content slightly differently. In particular, we included evolutionary equations and differential equations on manifolds. The applications to partial differential equations follow every abstract framework of the method in question. The text is structured in two levels: a self-contained basic level and an advanced level - organized in appendices - for the more experienced reader. The last chapter contains more involved material and can be skipped by those new to the field. This book serves as both a textbook for graduate-level courses and a reference book for mathematicians, engineers and applied scientists

Ill Posed Problems For Integrodifferential Equations In Mechanics And Electromagnetic Theory written by Frederick Bloom and has been published by SIAM this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1981-01-01 with Science categories.
Examines ill-posed, initial-history boundary-value problems associated with systems of partial-integrodifferential equations arising in linear and nonlinear theories of mechanical viscoelasticity, rigid nonconducting material dielectrics, and heat conductors with memory. Variants of two differential inequalities, logarithmic convexity, and concavity are employed. Ideas based on energy arguments, Riemann invariants, and topological dynamics applied to evolution equations are also introduced. These concepts are discussed in an introductory chapter and applied there to initial boundary value problems of linear and nonlinear diffusion and elastodynamics. Subsequent chapters begin with an explanation of the underlying physical theories.

Convexity And Optimization In Banach Spaces written by Viorel Barbu and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-01-03 with Mathematics categories.
An updated and revised edition of the 1986 title Convexity and Optimization in Banach Spaces, this book provides a self-contained presentation of basic results of the theory of convex sets and functions in infinite-dimensional spaces. The main emphasis is on applications to convex optimization and convex optimal control problems in Banach spaces. A distinctive feature is a strong emphasis on the connection between theory and application. This edition has been updated to include new results pertaining to advanced concepts of subdifferential for convex functions and new duality results in convex programming. The last chapter, concerned with convex control problems, has been rewritten and completed with new research concerning boundary control systems, the dynamic programming equations in optimal control theory and periodic optimal control problems. Finally, the structure of the book has been modified to highlight the most recent progression in the field including fundamental results on the theory of infinite-dimensional convex analysis and includes helpful bibliographical notes at the end of each chapter.

Mathematical Modeling Of Mitochondrial Swelling written by Messoud Efendiev and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-10-02 with Mathematics categories.
The mathematical models considered in this book can help to understand the swelling of mitochondria. For the first time, it presents new mathematical models of mitochondrial swelling that take into account, in particular, spatial effects. The results presented here could make it possible to predict properties of the underlying biological mechanisms. Taking into account that mitochondria could move within a cell, lead to a PDE-PDE model. The book discusses the well-posedness and long-term dynamics of solutions, depending on boundary conditions reflecting the in vitro and in vivo cases. These analytical and numerical results have inspired colleagues from the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Helmholtz Center Munich to design new experiments justifying the theoretical and numerical results that are obtained. The book is intended for graduates students and researchers with a solid mathematical background and an interest in cell biology.

Critical Point Theory written by Martin Schechter and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-05-30 with Mathematics categories.
This monograph collects cutting-edge results and techniques for solving nonlinear partial differential equations using critical points. Including many of the author’s own contributions, a range of proofs are conveniently collected here, Because the material is approached with rigor, this book will serve as an invaluable resource for exploring recent developments in this active area of research, as well as the numerous ways in which critical point theory can be applied. Different methods for finding critical points are presented in the first six chapters. The specific situations in which these methods are applicable is explained in detail. Focus then shifts toward the book’s main subject: applications to problems in mathematics and physics. These include topics such as Schrödinger equations, Hamiltonian systems, elliptic systems, nonlinear wave equations, nonlinear optics, semilinear PDEs, boundary value problems, and equations with multiple solutions. Readers will find this collection of applications convenient and thorough, with detailed proofs appearing throughout. Critical Point Theory will be ideal for graduate students and researchers interested in solving differential equations, and for those studying variational methods. An understanding of fundamental mathematical analysis is assumed. In particular, the basic properties of Hilbert and Banach spaces are used.
