About the Book Being Delivered through Hard Times is a story of exalted faith told from the alternating perspectives of two incredible survivors. Once strangers, Cheryl Ward-Kaiser and Guy Gray came to see how perfectly their life stories complete the other. An adoptee and a mother who placed her son for adoption discover each other as the unexpected answer to their prayers, a clue into the mindset of the person they quest for, and the hope for reunification. Cheryl and Guy recount the experiences, and trauma, of their lives that simultaneously challenged and reinforced their faith more than any would think possible. I was honored with the privilege of reading their story and soon realized their genius in two parts-first, lives as implausibly challenging as theirs have been, and the courage needed to survive them, could only act as a beacon of inspiration to others. And second, that faith tested as often as theirs has been, and as inexplicably carried through to the radical healing of everyone touched by these wonderful human beings, could only have one explanation-clearly, God has a plan for them. In their own words, Cheryl and Guy guide us by the hand through the most heart-wrenching moments of their lives, just to prove to us that their faith is what pulled them through. This story is an absolute must-read and will definitively restore the faith of all who read it and change our lives for Good. Thank you, Guy and Cheryl, for your passion and refusal to let pain and suffering go unanswered by faith and love. God bless you, Nicholas Orrick

Walking Through Fire written by Vaneetha Rendall Risner and has been published by Thomas Nelson this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-01-19 with Religion categories.

The astonishing, Job-like story of how an existence filled with loss, suffering, questioning, and anger became a life filled with shocking and incomprehensible peace and joy. Vaneetha Risner contracted polio as an infant, was misdiagnosed, and lived with widespread paralysis. She lived in and out of the hospital for ten years and, after each stay, would return to a life filled with bullying. When she became a Christian, though, she thought things would get easier, and they did: carefree college days, a dream job in Boston, and an MBA from Stanford where she met and married a classmate. But life unraveled. Again. She had four miscarriages. Her son died because of a doctor's mistake. And Vaneetha was diagnosed with post-polio syndrome, meaning she would likely become a quadriplegic. And then her husband betrayed her and moved out, leaving her to raise two adolescent daughters alone. This was not the abundant life she thought God had promised her. But, as Vaneetha discovered, everything she experienced was designed to draw her closer to Christ as she discovered "that intimacy with God in suffering can be breathtakingly beautiful."

David was to be the future king of Israel. And yet, as you’ll see firsthand in this compelling Bible study, the journey to that goal was filled with dangers, delays, and difficulties. Just like David, every man has a dream of who he wants to become. But getting there is a different story. Hardships and losses can destroy the faith–and even the life–of a lesser man. Many men fail to realize their dreams because they choose comfort over character, image over substance, and escape over endurance. But a man who knows how to embrace hardship and learn to mine it for God’s purposes will see his godly dreams come true. Hardships are inevitable. Embracing them is a choice. God’s dream for you is at stake. And Being God’s Man…in Tough Times will equip you to overcome life’s difficulties in the power and wisdom of God.

Hard Times written by Tom Clark and has been published by Yale University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-05-12 with Business & Economics categories.

2008 was a watershed year for global finance. The banking system was eventually pulled back from the brink, but the world was saddled with the worst slump since the 1930s Depression, and millions were left unemployed. While numerous books have addressed the financial crisis, very little has been written about its social consequences. Journalist Tom Clark draws on the research of a transatlantic team led by Professors Anthony Heath and Robert D. Putnam to determine the great recession’s toll on individuals, families, and community bonds in the United States and the United Kingdom. The ubiquitous metaphor of the crisis has been an all-encompassing “financial storm,” but Clark argues that the data tracks the narrow path of a tornado—destroying some neighborhoods while leaving others largely untouched. In our vastly unequal societies, disproportionate suffering is being meted out to the poor—and the book’s new analysis suggests that the scars left by unemployment and poverty will linger long after the economy recovers. Politicians on both sides of the Atlantic have shown more interest in exploiting the divisions of opinion ushered in by the slump than in grappling with these problems. But this hard-hitting analysis provides a wake-up call that all should heed.
