Einleitung Die Thematik "Gottesbeweise" zieht eine Vielzahl an Fragen und Problematiken nach sich, welche eine vertiefende Bearbeitung dieser erschweren. Die vorliegende Arbeit stellt einen Versuch dar, sich mit einem der Gottesbeweise, nämlich dem von Immanuel Kant als "ontologischen Gottesbeweis" bezeichneten, auseinander zu setzen. Dabei wird zunächst der Begriff "Gottesbeweis" definiert und anschließend der wohl bekannteste unter ihnen, der "ontologische Gottesbeweis" bzw. das so genannte "anselmianische Argument" mit seiner Geschichte vorgestellt. Wie der Name schon sagt, ist dieser auf Anselm von Canterbury zurückzuführen. Zuletzt folgt ein Einblick in die Kritik Kants bezüglich des ontologischen Gottesbeweises. Die Auswahl der beiden Philosophen unter der Vielzahl derer, die sich mit dem ontologischen Gottesbeweis beschäftigten, begründet sich auf ihre Stellung, die sie ihm bezüglich einnehmen: Anselm von Canterbury als Begründer und Immanuel Kant als schärfster Kritiker und gleichzeitig Über¬winder desselben. Zunächst aber muss an dieser Stelle kurz auf grundsätzliche Probleme der Thematik eingegangen werden. Die Gottesbeweise an sich grenzen an zwei große Disziplinen. Zum Einen an die Theologie und die zum Anderen an die Philosophie. Gerade der ontologische Beweis hat innerhalb seiner bald tausendjährigen Existenz zahlreiche Angriffe und Kritiken überdauert und geriet niemals endgültig ins Abseits. Auch heute setzen sich immer wieder Religionsphilosophen mit ihm auseinander. Aus diesem Grund erscheint eine nähere Auseinandersetzung mit dem ontologischen Gottesbeweis im Rahmen einer Hausarbeit als eine durchaus interessante Herausforderung.

A Systems Theory of Religion, still unfinished at Niklas Luhmann's death in 1998, was first published in German two years later thanks to the editorial work of André Kieserling.
