Elman Hypnotherapy written by Dr Tim Brunson and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-07-24 with categories.

The theories and techniques taught by David Elman to medical doctors and dentists during the last century is about much more than rapid, direct hypnosis. It provides valuable insight into the nature of suggestion and imagination and the art and science of hypnosis. Elman, a radio personality who played a role in the Office of Strategic Services (a precursor of the CIA) during World War II, was a talented stage hypnotist. When several medical doctors had attempted to apply hypnosis in their treatment of patients, they became dissatisfied with the techniques taught to them by Elman's chief rival, who was a psychiatrist who specialized in a permissive approach. Studying Elman gives the student a deep insight into the true nature of hypnosis and its transformative power. Elman's courses began with a basic 3-minute procedure, which I call the Elman Technique. He then required his students to get the same results in less than a minute. Next, he taught them how this could be done even without achieving a trance state. And he taught several pain management techniques to include Hypnotic Coma, which I successfully used to undergo outpatient surgery without sedation. Unfortunately, most courses and books on Elman fail to get past the basic Elman Technique. This volume contains the entire Elman Hypnotherapy: Beyond the Basics series of nine books. These books are based upon the Elman course taught by The International Hypnosis Research Institute as part of the Advanced Neuro-Noetic Hypnosis certification program.

Beyond Erickson written by Alex T. and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-07-24 with categories.

Revised 2016. This book reveals many less well known aspects of Erickson, including his colour blindness (and it's relevance). Erickson himself claimed to be only able to distinguish one colour, purple. Hence the colour of the cover of the original edition of this book, reproduced as in its first full publication with only minor re-formatting and adjustments, as is the text. But the book contains no "purple prose", only clearly written, straightforward discussion of Erickson's work, and "plain speaking" quotes from Erickson himself. Warning, some of Erickson's less well known statements, cited in this book, are not, in the present day expression, "Safe for Work"! Erickson is, of course, a towering figure in the history of hypnotism and long after his death, a pervading influence upon popular discussion of the topic. Many base their ideas, work, enterprise in "hypnosis" on Erickson's example. Not least the industry of "NLP". But this book explains why Erickson was, on the one hand, a brilliant original and yet at the same time a figure of contention. How much of Erickson's work actually sustains scrutiny? How many of his claims are supported by actual evidence? What was the scientific status of his "experiments"? What were Erickson's personality traits and their relevance to his work, not least his ethics? What were Erickson's "true colours"? Previous to this title, only one other author had dared to scrutinise Erickson's behaviour, Jeffrey Masson in one chapter of his "Against Therapy". In 2005 at the time of its original publication, "Beyond Erickson" was the first exacting critique of "The Emperor of Hypnosis". this re-publication includes a new prefatory essay on the interpretation of neuroscience in relation to "hypnosis". The author combines scientific training (having been a graduate MBPsS with a BSc. degree in Psychology and trained in social analysis) with his extensive experience as a hypnotist from over two decades of professional operation as such.

It has been said that "hypnosis is a collection of techniques in need of a unifying theory." (James A. Hall, Hypnosis: A Jungian Perspective). While the varied substrates of these techniques preclude the formation of any one theory of hypnosis, this volume presents a "state-of-the-science" view of existing theories of hypnosis. Written by eminent scholars and researchers, this uniquely authoritative resource also provides a wealth of information about the history of hypnosis, clinical and research perspectives on hypnosis, and the strengths and weaknesses of empirical methods used to address crucial theoretical questions. The streamlined organization of the volume facilitates the reader's ability to contrast and compare research findings and concepts across theories. In the introductory chapters, the editors describe hypnosis paradigms and schools of thought, including major points of convergence and divergence, as well as a broad vista of different perspectives on the history of hypnosis. The theoretical chapters that follow present definitive statements by an international array of eminent scholars who are at the forefront of conceptual advances in the realms of clinical and experimental hypnosis. Their contributions, written in lively first-person narratives, explore current thinking about hypnosis and represent important clinical and research traditions that extend beyond the territory of hypnosis to mainstream psychology. Providing a thorough discussion of hypnotic phenomena, the book tackles tough questions such as whether hypnosis evokes an altered state of consciousness; whether hypnotic behavior is involuntary; whether hypnotizability is stable, trait-like, and modifiable; and whether hypnotic and non-hypnotic behavior can be distinguished in meaningful ways. The diversity of viewpoints, including competitive ones, illuminates the debates which have expanded the frontiers of knowledge about hypnosis. In the concluding section, the editors compare and contrast these theories, discuss pertinent research issues, and lay out an agenda for future research. Given its stellar list of contributors and the unique niche it occupies as the first authoritative survey of its kind, THEORIES OF HYPNOSIS is of value to anyone interested in the topic. The editors' ten years of experience teaching hypnosis to psychology and medical students has resulted in a book with enormous appeal to students and instructors, as well as clinicians and researchers. A wide variety of professionals--academics, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, dentists--will find it an authoritative introduction and invaluable reference to this still-growing, ever-fascinating field.

"Brilliant and compelling insights. Adam's stunning research [of] hypnotic regression with near-death experiencers [is] a noteworthy contribution to what happens to us after our physical body dies." -Anita Moorjani, New York Times bestselling author of Dying to Be Me and What If This is Heaven? What happens after you die? Is there an afterlife? How can I find peace in my fear of death, or comfort after I've lost a loved one? After the tragic death of his father, Adam Dince wrestled with these questions for years. In search of answers, he began to research stories of those who had near-death experiences-people who briefly died but came back to life. These brilliant accounts filled Adam with hope that we live on long after our bodies do. Today, Adam is a certified hypnotherapist who specializes in past life regression, along with regressing clients back to memories and experiences in their "life between lives." In Back to the Beyond, discover: seven stunning firsthand accounts of near-death experiences, the science behind the new hypnotherapy modality, near-death experience (NDE) regression, and what the multidimensional aspects of the mind can teach us about consciousness and other realms. Fans of After by Dr. Bruce Greyson will appreciate this secular approach to a spiritual question-and the transformational lessons it provides. What awaits us after physical death is both perfect and beautiful. And what people who have gone back to the beyond can tell you-is that it's all about love. "A beautifully written primer on NDE's and out-of-body experiences for the well-seasoned veteran, and novice alike. The topic of the physical death can be mystifying and sometimes scary, but this book addresses [it] with humility, grace, and an open heart." -Elias Druckman MD, DC DACNB
