For the majority of scholars, the Animal Apocalypse is a militant text, a piece of pro-Maccabean propaganda. This text, however, develops theological reflections that are distinctly different from a justification of an armed struggle. Its themes are even incompatible with the Maccabean movement. It is impossible to condemn the Second Temple and, at the same time, mobilise people for a fight in order to purify that very Temple. After dealing with text-critical issues, this work challenges the thesis that the text is military propaganda through the use of narrative and historical approaches. The analyses, besides proposing a new way of a studying an apocalypse, spell out the peculiarity and the significance of the theology of the Animal Apocalypse in connection with the biblical history of Israel and the theology of the Qumran community.

On pense que l'auteur des Hébreux est Paul ou Pierre. L'épître aux Hébreux traite du sacerdoce du Christ, qui a accompli les lois de l'Ancien Testament. James, le frère de Jésus a écrit l'épître de James pour aborder la vie chrétienne pratique. Pierre a écrit aux chrétiens hébreux que leur but est l'encouragement et le témoignage. Pierre expose les doctrines de la grâce mais prévoit le départ de la foi qui culminera pendant « les derniers jours ». La première épître de Jean a été écrite comme étant du Père à ses "petits enfants". Jean traite les péchés d'un chrétien comme l'offense d'un enfant contre son Père. Sa deuxième épître est brève mais forte dans son message qui est centré sur la «vérité» dans sa relation avec la vie chrétienne, et que Jésus-Christ est lui-même la vérité vivante. Sa troisième lettre est écrite à ses amis, Gaius et Demetrius, les louant pour leur saine vie chrétienne. Jean a réprimandé un troisième membre de l'église, Diotrèphe, qui était l'un des premiers exemples d'ambition dominatrice dans l'église. L'épître de Jude a été écrite par Jude, un autre frère de Jésus. Son message a été écrit contre les apostasies dans l'église primitive si menaçantes que l'Esprit a poussé Jude à écrire cette lettre d'avertissement. Jude décrit comment l'apostasie conduit à une vie pécheresse. Une section bonus est incluse : Apocalypse en Langage Clair.
