John Calvin's sermons on Ezekiel, held between 1552 and 1554 in the church 'la Madeleine' in Geneva and now studied for the first time, offer intriguing material on his exposition of prophetic visions. Der Band, an dem ein internationaler Kreis von über fünfzig Autoren mitgewirkt hat, ist zugleich eine Festgabe zum siebzigsten Geburtstag von P. Hermann-Josef Sieben SJ, dessen Lebenswerk unter der angesprochenen Fragestellung steht. Das Werk wird drei Teile umfassen. Der erste Teil unter dem Titel 'Die Kirche der Väter' wird von Johannes Arnold betreut und ist dem Kirchenverständnis in der Alten Kirche gewidmet.
