This is the story of one lamb and his hilarious adventure as he sets out to discover where babies come from. The book is an introduction to sex education for young children, it is a way in for that awkward conversation and answers some of their tricky questions while giving children all the things they love; farting cows, pooing chickens and angry bees. The aim of this book is to provide some of the basic information concerning sex education for younger children, wrapping it up in a humorous story helps keep your child interested while providing enough information to stimulate their natural curiosity. This book deliberately doesn't cover the act of intercourse, the explanations provided are usually enough for younger children (age 6 to 10 years), but it eases the way for you to provide further information if you feel it is necessary and your child is ready.

Sentinel Chickens written by Peter Doherty and has been published by Melbourne Univ. Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with Science categories.

'The idea of 'sentinel chickens' seemed pretty incongruous when I first heard the phrase as a young undergraduate ... The notion of the humble chicken waiting like a trained soldier, alert and focused, for some unseen and approaching enemy just didn't seem likely. Hens en garde!' And yet guard they do. Not only chickens, but puffins, eagles, canaries and toucans- birds of all kinds are recruited by humans to help us interpret changes in our increasingly challenged and unpredictable world. These wonderful creatures continually sample the atmosphere, oceans, fields and forests, signalling toxic and environmental dangers that threaten all vertebrates. Through personal stories and fascinating examples, Nobel prizewinner Peter Doherty shows also how birds have contributed to cutting-edge medical research. Studying birds has helped us to understand the nature of human cancer, malaria and influenza, and contributed to the development of new vaccines and cures. In his trademark style, Peter argues that since birds pollenate, spread plant seeds and control insects, endangering their habitats through human activities is a threat to our own wellbeing. Sentinel Chickens shows why we should give our feathered friends our close, sustained and caring attention.

Cluck S Luck written by Randlett Jordan and has been published by Page Publishing Inc this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-02-03 with Juvenile Fiction categories.

Cluck's Luck is a fable of friendship among a chicken (Cluck), a work horse (Peggy), and a New Hampshire farmer (Foster). In spring, 1946, Foster receives mail order chicks, including a bonus Black Australorp, at no charge. Cluck takes her status as a "free chick" literally. The novel follows her expanding moral sensibilities, adventures over the first year of life, evolving affection for Peggy, and her trenchant observations of complex relations between the human farm family and creatures in their charge. Foster, his wife, Frances, eight-year-old Victor, and twelve-year-old Winifred provide characters with whom nonfictional families can identify. Similar in tone, diction, and humor to Charlotte's Web, Cluck's Luck addresses inevitable conflicts as Cluck and other animals attempt to balance loyalty with their struggle for freedom and justice within the farm context, where life and death issues are ever present. The story is set on Foster's farm, except for a period when Cluck escapes and makes her way to an abandoned, neighboring farm where she joins a colony of independent animals. After overwintering there, Cluck concludes that her friendship with Peggy is more valuable than the independence she has attained. She then returns to the farm. After the children are grown and gone, Frances leaves too. Peggy's eyesight dims, but with Cluck giving guidance from Peggy's shoulder and Foster behind with the reins, the three work together for the rest of their lives.
