QueenDeborah believes God has blessed, anointed, and appointed her to write this second book; and it pertains to the mercy of God! How merciful God has been to her! Out of the relationships, QueenDeborah asked God, "Why am I writing books about this one?" The response was...there was only a step between me and death. (I Samuel 20:3) QueenDeborah truly does not know where she would be if God did not choose to have mercy on her! An epiphany God gave QueenDeborah was, "It's one thing for God to get and have one's attention, but when you have God's attention, that's a totally different case!" I have God's attention! "Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy" (Psalm 33:18). QueenDeborah is hoping for the mercy of God! One thing God showed QueenDeborah is that whoever has your heart has you! The word heart has two other words--h(ear)t and (hear)t! So whoever has you has your heart and therefore has your ear to hear whatever they say! It is time now to hear what God has to say! He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches (Revelations 3:22). So as you snap out of it, ask, look for, and expect the mercy of God! I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul, for I have sinned against thee (Psalm 41:4). But thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up (v. 10). By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me (v. 11). God is a merciful God! Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Zion [QueenDeborah]: for the time to favour her, yea the set time is come (Psalm 102:13 KJV).

Pain Passion And Faith written by Joanna Cruickshank and has been published by Rowman & Littlefield this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009 with Methodist Church categories.

Pain, Passion and Faith: Revisiting the Place of Charles Wesley in Early Methodism is a significant study of the 18th-century poet and preacher Charles Wesley. Wesley was an influential figure in 18th-century English culture and society; he was co-founder of the Methodist revival movement and one of the most prolific hymn-writers in the English language. His hymns depict the Christian life as characterized by a range of intense emotions, from ecstatic joy to profound suffering. With this book, author Joanna Cruickshank examines the theme of suffering in Charles Wesley's hymns, to help us understand how early Methodist men and women made sense of the physical, emotional and spiritual pains they experienced. Cruickshank uncovers an area of significant disagreement within the Methodist leadership and illuminates Methodist culture more broadly, shedding light on early Methodist responses to contemporary social issues like charity, slavery, and capital punishment.

This volume will serve to enrich the reader’s understanding of the impact of World War I on Eastern Europe, by bringing together authors from all over Europe specialising in the history of this area. It presents a retrospective approach and a re-evaluation of this event, the lasting effects of which still make themselves felt in some regions today. Case studies, memoirs, journals, and the printed press of the time are all examined in order to paint a vivid picture of the Great War in Eastern Europe, and particularly in Romania. The chapters offer fresh perspectives on topics connected to the war, including the contribution of women and the emancipation opportunities for them, the social changes that occurred, and the propaganda in Romanian territory. They also review the League of Nations and the protection of international minorities, particularly in those regions where new boundaries were created, and where the application of national self-determination still left substantial communities outside the frontiers of the respective states.

The pathbreaking investigation into motherhood and womanhood from an influential and enduring feminist voice, now for a new generation. In Of Woman Born, originally published in 1976, influential poet and feminist Adrienne Rich examines the patriarchic systems and political institutions that define motherhood. Exploring her own experience—as a woman, a poet, a feminist, and a mother—she finds the act of mothering to be both determined by and distinct from the institution of motherhood as it is imposed on all women everywhere. A “powerful blend of research, theory, and self-reflection” (Sandra M. Gilbert, Paris Review), Of Woman Born revolutionized how women thought about motherhood and their own liberation. With a stirring new foreword from National Book Critics Circle Award–winning writer Eula Biss, the book resounds with as much wisdom and insight today as when it was first written.

There’s a Buddhist saying, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” That teacher is Pamela Des Barres, known to her students —and to the world over —as Miss Pamela. Miss Pamela has created a safe space for hundreds of women across the country and throughout the world to share their lives and express their most secret thoughts through writing. Their ages range from 20 to 75, and in her writing workshops the 20 year-olds can come across like wise-old sages, and the 70-year olds can appear like teenagers discovering their voices for the first time. The magic of getting women together to share their stories has wrought this collection of powerful, moving writing. The pieces are funny, angry, joyful, sad, full of hope, tragedy, and transformation—each a revelation in its own right. You will marvel at the skill with which these women have told their tales based on the prompts Miss Pamela gives them, all written extemporaneously in 12 minutes. You may also discover yourself in these glimpses into the lives of your fellow humans.

Sacred Pain written by Ariel Glucklich and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-10-30 with Religion categories.

Why would anyone seek out the very experience the rest of us most wish to avoid? Why would religious worshipers flog or crucify themselves, sleep on spikes, hang suspended by their flesh, or walk for miles through scorching deserts with bare and bloodied feet? In this insightful new book, Ariel Glucklich argues that the experience of ritual pain, far from being a form of a madness or superstition, contains a hidden rationality and can bring about a profound transformation of the consciousness and identity of the spiritual seeker. Steering a course between purely cultural and purely biological explanations, Glucklich approaches sacred pain from the perspective of the practitioner to fully examine the psychological and spiritual effects of self-hurting. He discusses the scientific understanding of pain, drawing on research in fields such as neuropsychology and neurology. He also ranges over a broad spectrum of historical and cultural contexts, showing the many ways mystics, saints, pilgrims, mourners, shamans, Taoists, Muslims, Hindus, Native Americans, and indeed members of virtually every religion have used pain to achieve a greater identification with God. He examines how pain has served as a punishment for sin, a cure for disease, a weapon against the body and its desires, or a means by which the ego may be transcended and spiritual sickness healed. "When pain transgresses the limits," the Muslim mystic Mizra Asadullah Ghalib is quoted as saying, "it becomes medicine." Based on extensive research and written with both empathy and critical insight, Sacred Pain explores the uncharted inner terrain of self-hurting and reveals how meaningful suffering has been used to heal the human spirit.
