As a child I went through some hard times.Being raised in a Christian home with challenges I learned early to trust in Jesus. He is and has been my anchor all my life. Not to say there haven’t been tests. God has been my sure protection and supports me through my life verse. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord. It is the Lord Christ you serve. ”Col 3:23 After the Second World War everything was changing. My parents took our young family from east-ern Canada to go ‘west’ for employment. In this book I make some references to personal childhood memories for the purpose of drawing out a truth God planted deep in my heart. Having a sensitive spirit God gave me insights. I hope you will glean value from the pages of some of the seasons I’ve traveled. Always a good student, I loved to write. As a young adult I quickly used my writing to do plays, skits, and comedy in church life. I was the church historian and also as the secretary to the board I kept accurate records of meetings. It is vital that we keep renewing our spirits to survive in a world gone crazy. Draw close to those you love and stimulate their connections to God. Through love and mercy we nurture our minds daily with the living word of God. Read an article and see what God is saying to you. They are really just bite sized portions.

Bloom Where You're Planted, Volume II is more like a bunch of girlfriends at a sleepover sharing their stories of what Christ has done in and through their decisions to plant a church. It is testimony after testimony that God can and does still work through broken, scared, self conscious, yet willing people. It's meant to encourage and remind you: You are not alone. All across the country, women just like you are making the decision to lay it down for Christ each and every day while balancing family, marriage, work and church. Here you will find a call to arms of sorts, a reminder of the Great Commission of Jesus, challenged in each of our hearts. These are the stories of women currently in the trenches of church planting, who not so long ago, stood at the precipice of faith and dared to let go of everything they held dear and secure to free fall in faith.

Dean Joshua Mastine Nisbett reflects on God’s involvement and purpose in his life. He reminisces over four decades of ordained ministry in two parishes. Several parallels are made between the author and Biblical characters. The call of Jeremiah while still in his mother’s womb. Hannah, dedicating her child to God’s service and Dean Nisbett’s parents baptizing him when he was nineteen days old. Amos, the dresser of sycamore trees called to be a prophet and Dean Nisbett’s call from the grafting of fruit trees to assist in the grafting of souls. The anointing of David, to be king of Israel and the election of Dean Nisbett as the second rector of St. David’s Episcopal Church. Abraham’s sacrificial testing of his son Isaac, and the near-death experience of Jevon, Dean Nisbett’s son. Joshua, who led the Israelites into the Promised Land, and Joshua who led St. David’s into their “Promised Land.” Haggai’s call for the rebuilding of the temple, and Dean Nisbett’s congregation building a house of worship. Jesus’ passion death and resurrection and Dean Nisbett’s challenges at the onset of his ministry. The author also identified with no room at the INN at Bethlehem, and the flight to Egypt by the Holy Family. Often times the lectionary readings resonates with a current experience of the author. Through prayer, meditation, radical trust in God, creative and mutual ministry, difficulties were turned into opportunities and a little church was transformed into a healthy one. Reflecting on a pilgrimage to Ghana, Dean Nisbett gives a graphic description of the African Slave Trade. He agonizes over the Anglican Church’s role in the business but is convinced God planted him in the said church to help change the narrative.

Bloom Where Youre Plantedon paper, it may be a simple concept, but in reality, it is one of the most challenging tasks a Christian will ever face, especially during hard times. I discovered this firsthand after being diagnosed with epilepsy as a teenager. I was swept off my mountain and found myself smack-dab in the middle of the valley of shadow and doubt. The truth is, this unexpected change of scenery was exactly what I needed if I was ever going to stop focusing on the plans I created and start focusing on Gods plan instead. The journey through the valley is never easy, but embracing the will God has intended for your life is a good start. I may not be through my valley just yet, but as Ive learned over the span of eight years while dealing with epilepsy, Gods plan is perfect and dependable. Blooming where youre planted is more than simply embracing your current circumstances; it is choosing to root yourself in Christ. Only then can you grow to fulfill the purpose created for you by Almighty God.

Christian School Teacher written by A. Duane Hooper and has been published by Xulon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-12 with Religion categories.

How many Christian "school teachers" are fully familiar with God's biblical mandates for their vocation? School teachers inherently hold a powerful influence over students, for good or bad. This sobering reality should motivate all school administrators, especially in Christian schools, to ensure that their teachers are spiritually qualified. Academic qualifications for teachers are essential, but spiritual qualifications are critical for meeting the biblical goals of education. In fact, it is the spiritual motivation and qualification of teachers that should be the greatest area of concern during the process of selecting faculty members to serve in Christian schools. Veteran teacher and Christian counselor Hooper offers twenty-one defining principles that separate Christian teachers from those who are not Christian. Do today's school teachers make the grade? This book is a must read for all who aspire to serve God effectively in the school classroom. Duane Hooper is a school teacher, principal, ordained minister, and board certified Christian counselor. His ministry was providentially redirected from the pastorate to education in 1990 when he began serving as teacher at Bay Area Christian School in League City, Texas. While serving as teacher and junior high principal, his passion for Christian education intensified. Concerning the influence held by teachers, especially in light of Christ's love for children, Duane was burdened regarding the need for Christian teachers to model not just Spiritual fruit, but Christ's express love for children. Duane's love for students is manifested in his several nominations to Who's Who Among America's Teachers. With both masters and doctoral degrees in Christian education and a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling, Duane has an ardent passion to share what he believes to be a Bible-based vision for the ministries of Christian school teachers-whether serving in Christian or public schools.
