This Short Cut is all about getting up and running with Adobe Flex 2; a perfect title would be "(Almost) Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know about Flex 2 But Were Afraid to Ask." It consists of conversational instruction, along with demonstrative examples, in order to give developers an efficient grounding in how to get their arms around using Flex 2. Especially helpful for those coming from the Flex/AS/Flash universe, but also designed for those coming from Java, .Net, and elsewhere. Six small sections cover: Quick background on Flex 2 What's new in ActionScript 3.0 How to use Flex right out of the box (so to speak) "Making It Look Good": Design and UI issues Extending Flex Little-known features and capabilities Roger Braunstein is a developer and designer living in Brooklyn. He's obsessed with beautiful code, motion design, graphics programming, and video games. He also cultivates an interest in cooking, photography, biking, and 8-bit music. A Gift From Seraphina written by Kathy O'Leary and has been published by Xlibris Corporation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-02-04 with Poetry categories.

I have travelled for more than 20 years and visited 51 countries on my own. I don't have a camera but write poems instead! My poems cover a huge gamut of experiences. I have captured the weird, the wonderful, heartbreaking, humorous, inspirational and moving aspects of my travelling and life. I have written poems celebrating the inner child in all of us, the secret of Happiness and in honour of another aspect of life... Death. I have also written many personal poems for people whom in some cases I have only met once and unlikely to meet again. My personal poems are thought provoking and motivational. There is a spiritual depth to them too and almost miraculously they zoom in on and highlight the source of a person’s fears and woes and offer release and solutions. I honestly can’t say how I do this, as not only has the individual not talked about their pain to me, in most cases they have buried it from themselves. My poems acknowledging their problems with heartfelt advice and hope bring enlightenment and tears of wonderment, to me too! Most of my poems are written at night in a trance-like state and I wake up in the morning to reams of paper. Sometimes I have to look up words in the dictionary as I don’t know what they mean or even if they exist, and I am amazed to find they are words which express exactly what I am trying to say! Even Oprah Winfrey visiting a murderer in prison is the inspiration for one of my trance-like channelled poems! I feel the prisoner's subconscious was speaking through me and what develops is truly incredible and alarming. My poems are cherished by me. "I have the armour to fight life's lions" and "I have captured the Gift of Happiness within my heart" Even people who don't like poems love mine passionately. They all rhyme and have a readable, enjoyable flow to them. Nobody hears one without wanting to hear another. Last night I dreamed of a beautiful angel called Seraphina who told me she was my travel companion. I feel she should share some credit for my wondrous gift and now have the title for my book which has eluded me for many years.

Second Takes written by Andrew Repasky McElhinney and has been published by McFarland this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11-05 with Performing Arts categories.

Second Takes presents the history of English language cinema by focusing on cinematic remakes and on how cinema has been replaced by new forms of "media." Remakes, with their innate plurality, offer the most substance for concentrated cultural analysis of how movies reflect and shape American culture. Analyzing the archetypes that recur in this culture reveals how movies are an increasingly dangerous surrogate for the actual. Close readings are presented of such works as popular favorites as Cronenberg's Crash, Disney's The Parent Trap, Ferrara's Bad Lieutenant, Hitchcock's Psycho, Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, Lynch's Twin Peaks (the film) and Welles' The Magnificent Ambersons, while unearthing pictures ripe for rediscovery such as One More Tomorrow, Strange Illusion and Andy Warhol's Vinyl. Instructors considering this book for use in a course may request an examination copy here.

Warners Wiseguys written by Scott Allen Nollen and has been published by McFarland this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-04-28 with Performing Arts categories.

As three of the most prominent actors of the early studio system, James Cagney, Edward G. Robinson, and Humphrey Bogart played an unparalleled role in the rise of the Warner Brothers Studio. These "Warners Wiseguys" are now virtually synonymous with the studio's era of gritty gangster films. This study of their interwoven studio-contract careers highlights the similarities of their personalities and their struggles with harsh typecasting. It details and comments critically on each of their combined 112 Warners films. Complete with commentary from the author and other film buffs. An appendix provides a filmographic guide to the films discussed, including lists of primary actors, release dates, directorial credits, and running times for each film.
