Bernie awakens to darkness and thinks hes dead. Theres no other explanation. He cant move or see; hes surrounded by nothingness. Hes dead, right? Yet as he reflects on his life, theres a rather gaping empty space where his death should be. He cant remember the circumstances of his untimely demise, which is when he realizes hes not dead at all. Hes in a state of coma, but he can hear voices around him. Hes alive, but he cant make contact with the living world. Only then does he again begin to reflect on his lifenot life but lives. His current existence, his current body, is one of many, beginning in the Spanish Inquisition when Bernie was executed for witchcraft. The touch of magic has followed him throughout his remaining lives. Loved ones are found and lost again, over decades and then centuries. Bernies consistent rebirth is due to his use of witchcraft to mess with preordained destiny. Hes utterly defenseless in his current state, but he must find a way to fight those who mean him harm. Otherwise, this will be his last incarnation, and it will not end well.

Refuge has a type of magnetic energy that pulls a certain type of person to its safe haven. For these, there is no other safe place on Earth. The people called to Refuge are special for one reason or another and do not fit anywhere else in the world. Misfits? Perhaps, or maybe just misunderstood humans whove been lost beneath the unforgiving umbrella we call normal. Its a place for doctors who have performed medically assisted suicide and were about to be incarcerated for their beliefs. A journalist might end up in Refuge because he wouldnt reveal his sources and was bound for prison. A police officer that used his weapon justly in the line of duty might avoid an unjust prison sentence by living in Refuge. However, there are others, too. Some were born with the ability to use a greater portion of their brain than others. Some were born with enhanced abilities due to a drug administered in vitro. Finally, certain residents have experimented with the occultblack or white in their dabbling. Difficult to find, Refuge seems like any other rural village in Nevada until you meet its mysterious citizens.

Naked Seeing written by Christopher Hatchell and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014 with Religion categories.

Buddhism is in many ways a visual tradition, with its well-known practices of visualization, its visual arts, its epistemological writings that discuss the act of seeing, and its literature filled with images and metaphors of light. Some Buddhist traditions are also visionary, advocating practices by which meditators seek visions that arise before their eyes. Naked Seeing investigates such practices in the context of two major esoteric traditions, the Wheel of Time (Kalacakra) and the Great Perfection (Dzogchen). Both of these experimented with sensory deprivation, and developed yogas involving long periods of dwelling in dark rooms or gazing at the open sky. These produced unusual experiences of seeing, which were used to pursue some of the classic Buddhist questions about appearances, emptiness, and the nature of reality. Along the way, these practices gave rise to provocative ideas and suggested that, rather than being apprehended through internal insight, religious truths might also be seen in the exterior world-realized through the gateway of the eyes. Christopher Hatchell presents the intellectual and literary histories of these practices, and also explores the meditative techniques and physiology that underlie their distinctive visionary experiences. The book also offers for the first time complete English translations of three major Tibetan texts on visionary practice: a Kalacakra treatise by Yumo Mikyo Dorj , The Lamp Illuminating Emptiness, a Nyingma Great Perfection work called The Tantra of the Blazing Lamps, and a B n Great Perfection work called Advice on the Six Lamps, along with a detailed commentary on this by Drugom Gyalwa Yungdrung.
