Love And Pain written by Ben Gillies and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-09-27 with Bands (Music) categories.

"The powerful, untold story of two of the three members of iconic Australian band Silverchair. It all began in Ben Gillies' garage - where three high school kids from Newcastle, New South Wales, created magic with their smash-hit single 'Tomorrow', setting them on a path to domination of the Australian charts, worldwide touring and fame. So much has been written about Silverchair over the years but very little has been said by the band's members. In Love & Pain, drummer Ben Gillies and bass player Chris Joannou retrace their footsteps from childhood friends living across the road from each other, and share their often hilarious, wild and unforgettable stories from the rock 'n' roll spotlight, along with the exhilarating highs and heart-wrenching lows they faced along the way. There was also all the love and pain that came from being in the band: the cost of fame and intense pressure on two teenagers who had no way of preparing for it, and the complex dynamics of navigating friendships with each other and their relationships with friends and family members, the mistakes they made and the successes they cherished. Gillies and Joannou write with vulnerability and raw and blistering honesty, making for an extraordinary account of a band adored by so many"--Publisher's description.

This book was written in response to the escalating number of passion killings in Botswana, Africa. At one point it forced our former president Mr Festus Mogae to tour the country sensitizing the public about the importance of refraining from committing passion killings as it is not a solution to the real problem.Coincidentally the author found himself in an unfortunate situation. If he was not brave enough he could have committed it passion killings himself, thanks to the grace of the almighty. He avoided it and wrote this book to enlighten the world. During that time the author was heavily and beautifully betrayed by someone he considered to be his soul mate of 9 years. After the betrayal he felt like being in another planet so he chose to drink alcohol heavily in an attempt to make himself forget about the issue. He eventually fell ill and hospitalized for 15 days. After his discharge from hospital he went to prison to investigate people who have murdered their partners and attempted to commit suicide and were caught before they could succeed. He then went to a local mental hospital here in Botswana,Lobatse Mental Hospital to interview people who became mentally disturbed due to the betrayals in relationships they were in .Also interviewed were judges, lawyers, pastors, social workers, psychiatrists and the general public. After these interviews he then decided to write this book which is all about the pains people encounter in their relationships which leads other people to commit passion killings.Solutions and counseling for those whose relationships are on the rocks are also availed in this highly important book. The aim of this book is to make people understand things which can distract peace in relationships so that every body can live in peace and harmony thus enjoy the relationship. This once achieved will end an era of passion killings incidents .This is a relationship manual book which every couple must have.

Love & Pain is a poetic anthology on the darkness of pain, and the beauty of love; all told from raw emotions, and laying of the soul bare; through poetry that speaks to the soul, and eventually results in healing. The book is available as the standard edition with 180 poems, and the Limited-Edition print, with 200 poems, that is currently running. The book is divided into two main chapters; "The Book of Pain," and "The Book of Love," with each main chapter culminating with the sub-chapters; "The Last Chapter," and "The Limited-Edition Chapter." The book contains a total of 200 poems, split between the two main chapters, with the two sub-chapters, each having 10 poems.I wrote Love and Pain at different phases of my life. The first bit of the book, "The Book of Pain," was written at a very difficult point in my life. A lot of things were going terribly wrong, and I needed an outlet to help deal with that pain, and the difficulty of those situations, hence the "Book of Pain," came to be. It is a collection of poems that helps to deal with pain, at times taking it head on, or viewing it from the side-lines, but nevertheless, letting you the reader experience the emotion of pain through words. In writing this bit of the book, I learnt the beauty of shared pain and the importance of letting it run its course, rather than trying to fight it, and thus finding healing in the process. I hope that while reading it, you will find healing through the appreciation of pain."The Book of Love," is more of like the chapter of life that comes after the storm; when you are trying to pick up the pieces after the troubles and pains have settled. However, this stage of life is not viewed from a point of anguish and pain due to what you have lost, but from the beauty that comes with losing those things and being okay with it, and a deeper understanding that what happened, had to happen, in order for you to get to a point of genuine happiness and harmony with what was and what is. In a way, this seems like a paradox, but I hope in reading this bit, you come out at the end filled with love.Love and Pain is a journey meant to be experienced in its entirety.

The author of the Lambda Literary Award winner Kamikaze Lust delivers “a thrilling tale of espionage, family ties, sex, love, and betrayal” (The Advocate). Jennifer Baron is a failed Olympic speed skater now running her family’s foundation and trying to stay sober, when her billionaire father disappears. She travels to Israel in search of him, becoming recklessly entangled in his illegal dealings and with his enigmatic lover, Gila, a former Mossad agent gone bad. Along the way, she is drawn into the shadow worlds of the Promised Land, where career-jockeying government agents, fake Orthodox Jews, queer Palestinians on the run, and other displaced wanderers scramble to find home amid the endless cycles of war, occupation, and heartbreak. The Book of Love and Hate is an unraveling of white-collar crime and its motivations. It’s a testament to the magnificent oblivion of love and a shattering of inherited trauma, both personal and historical. “A thriller of literary pedigree, unbound by convention . . . If you’re seeking a cathartic resolution in the final pages, you might be disappointed—but you shouldn’t be surprised. Not when you’re talking about Israel and corrupt fortunes, and madness, obsession, and abuse . . . Just don’t expect to find a safe, comforting space in the pages of Lauren Sanders’s discomforting and terrific book.” —The Village Voice “Sanders knows how to craft a story. The storyline is riveting, and the personal development of the characters kept me engaged on a deeper level than even her thrilling plot could. Her prose is beautiful and brings you to an ending that is sure to have you reeling.” —Windy City Times

Time doesn’t heal—love heals When Vonnie Woodrick lost her husband Rob to suicide in 2003, she was faced with a series of decisions. How would she move on? How would she support and raise her three children as a young widow? How would she talk about Rob and honor his memory? These questions had no easy answers, but Vonnie found herself longing for one thing in particular: understanding. The stigma of mental illness loomed large over Rob’s death and made healing difficult. But Vonnie found the common assumptions surrounding suicide to be false. Rob was not “crazy.” He did not choose to take his own life. He was in agony and only wanted the pain to end. His death was a direct result of his mental illness. Why didn’t more people understand this? Over a decade later, Vonnie and her children created the nonprofit organization i understand to help others enduring this same grief and loneliness. Since its founding in 2014, i understand has become a haven of compassionate comfort and a powerful voice in the movement to change the way we talk about suicide so that it can be seen for what it truly is: a terminal effect of mental illness, rather than a deliberate choice. This is the story of how love transformed Vonnie’s brokenness into hope—not only for herself and her family, but for anyone struggling to emerge from the darkness of suicide.
