Redemption for all of humanity has been made available to all through one Man—Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free and unmerited gift to man from the throne of grace. Nonetheless, the price of the cross was, indeed, costly. A true relationship with God— through—Jesus Christ involves more than following a “free-style” doctrine. Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God” (Jn. 3:3). The immediate goal of being born-again is to see the Kingdom of God. Yet, there is an issue of blindness among believers that must be resolved. It is not enough be saved, join a church, or even to become a missionary, although these are noble things. Undeniably, there is a distinct journey for each individual in Christ, but one thing that applies to all Christians is the need for obedient adherence to the principles in the Scriptures. While some may practice a permissive theology, the true sons and daughters of God ought not to “cherry-pick” through the Scriptures to find what they are willing to apply in their own lives. Reject one part of the Word of God and you must reject it all—or else—embrace it all and live it! The institutional church, with its numerous denominations, has no soul to be transformed, but each believer does. Jesus died to save individual believers not denominational entities. God adopts common individuals and they become His unique sons and daughters. The Mystery and Miracle of New Birth is for believers who desire to know and practice sound biblical doctrine—because doctrine matters.

He was curious as to how one can be a part of the kingdom and Jesus said in verse three. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" John 3:3 "Jesus answered him, I assure you most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God.' AMP The man must have looked at Jesus to confirm if he was in his right senses for he wondered how an adult would enter into his mother's stomach and be born again and Jesus told him "Except a man be born of the water and the spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." so we can see that this goes beyond physical birth, this is the work of the spirit of Christ. Many of us who were born into Christian homes automatically believe we are born again or part of the house hold of faith, God forbid that at the end, Jesus tells us to depart because he does not know us. Being part of a Christian home or being part of a church does not equal being born again. You may know a lot about Jesus and God of the Christians, you may even know some verses in the bible and be able to quote them well, you may be able to say a thing or two about Jesus but then do you know him personally. You may say you know the president of your country, you might be able to say a lot of things about him but then the level of knowledge you have cannot be compared to what his wife will say. The wife knows him better, she sleeps with him and shares intimacy with him, and he will tell her things he is too careful not to tell the world, she knows his strengths and his fears. She knows when he is pretending to be okay and smiling when he is dying in silence. Now that is a level, and God desires that, intimacy with God and a relationship with him is the end to which Christ died so that when you die you can share eternity with him in heaven. So it's not about knowing about Jesus, it is about Jesus knowing you. Do you want to make heaven and be part of the kingdom Jesus talked about? Then you must be born again for that is the access, the key to the kingdom that is what entitles you to all that pertains to life and godliness. The son of a prince does not beg for the throne, he knows the throne is his by birth, same thing goes, we are the King's kid and because we are born of God, we have all He has. "But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." John 1:12 So the power we have to be called sons is imparted at new birth, when we receive him into our life. Are you curious to know what this new birth is? For the past twenty years, I have thought and developed an interest in what I call the mystery mission of salvation in Christ Jesus. This curiosity has intensified over the past three years, and I am compelled by the divine spirit of Christ Jesus to put my belief and faith in ink on paper. Apostle Paul, the greatest theologian, stated, “Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach” (1 Cor. 9:16). Like Paul, I am writing this book not of my own choice but of necessity. I believe I have been entrusted with this assignment to unveil the mystery mission of salvation in Christ Jesus. Paul stated, “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died” (2 Cor. 5:14). The love shown by Christ Jesus (Gal. 2:20, Rom. 8:35–38) is the model of authentic existence and compels believers like Paul, who thought that he had no choice but to imitate the selflessness of Christ Jesus to preach the Gospel of salvation in Christ Jesus. As a believer in the Savior, our Lord, and God Christ Jesus, I am obliged to write this book about the Son of God who wrought salvation to the universe through his birth on the first Christmas Day, his mission on earth for about three years, his cruel death on the cross on the first Good Friday, and his ultimate resurrection on the first Easter Sunday morning. My purpose in this book is not to boast on human intelligence or ability; on the contrary, it is to show the love of Christ Jesus who condescended and descended humbly from his divine heavenly city to this sinful earthly city in order to bring eternal salvation to all those who believe in him. I do hope and pray ardently and fervently that this book might help just one person to come to know salvation in Christ Jesus for the first time or open the spiritual eye and mind of a believer to have a deeper and more holy understanding of the amazing grace and love of Christ Jesus, who brings salvation to humanity by his wonderful and mysterious mission of salvation, which is unveiled in this book. Following fourteen years as a parish minister in the Church of Scotland, Dr Andrew McGowan became the first Director of the Highland Theological Institute which opened in Elgin in N.E. Scotland in 1994. He writes with special concern for the young Christian: ?This is a guidebook intended for those who have embarked on the journey of faith.' His principal aim is that they reach a better understanding of what has happened, and will happen, to them as a consequence of the new birth which marks the very beginning of the Christian's new life and leads to the faith which is the gift of God's grace. After helpful chapters on the need for, and the nature of regeneration, there are three chapters dealing with justification, and six on sanctification. In this way, Dr McGowan shows how the new birth leads to a new relationship with God and to holiness of life. John Blanchard remarks in his Foreword, ?All the important doctrines involved in the experience of becoming a Christian are carefully linked together in a way which makes one marvel all the more at the grace of God in salvation.' The treatment of these doctrines is naturally brief as this book is intended as a ?starter'. Should we look forward to a ?finisher'? The reader is presented with an abundance of Bible references as he goes along, rather than at the ends of chapters, and he is advised to ?look up the passages from the Bible as they are mentioned'. In Chapter 13, the author points to how regeneration fits into the doctrines already examined, showing from Romans 8: 28 - 30 how Paul is speaking about the place of born-again people in God's plan, and the certainty of salvation of those upon whom God has set his love in advance. In Chapter 14, Dr McGowan deals with ?effectual calling', to show how the salvation provided for God's people in Jesus Christ takes place. The final chapter addresses the non-Christian reader with searching questions. This book should be available on the church bookstall.
