This book presents a theoretical framework developed to support psychologists working with indigenous people and interethnic communities. Departing from the cultural shock experienced as a psychologist working with indigenous people in Brazil, Dr. Danilo Silva Guimarães identifies the limits of traditional psychological knowledge to deal with populations who don’t share the same ethos of the European societies who gave birth to psychology as a modern science and proposes a new approach to go beyond the epistemological project that aimed to construct a subject able to represent the world free from any cultural mediation. According to the author, the purpose of cultural psychology is to produce general psychological theories about the cultural mediation of the self, others and world relationships. Based on this assumption, he argues that to achieve this aim, cultural psychology needs to understand how indigenous perspectives participate in the process of knowledge construction, transforming psychological conceptions and practices. In this volume, the author presents his own contribution to open cultural psychology to indigenous perspectives by discussing the theoretical and practical implications of the notion of dialogical multiplication for the construction of work in co-authorship in the relation between psychology and indigenous peoples. With the growing migrations around the world, competences in psychological communication across cultures are more demanded each day, which makes Dialogical Multiplication – Principles for an Indigenous Psychology a critical resource for psychologists working with interethnic and intercultural communities around the world.

Os Direitos Humanos constituem o conjunto de garantias fundamentais para a realização de uma vida digna a todos os indivíduos. Todas as pessoas devem ter esses direitos assegurados, a partir de seu nascimento, para possuir as condições mínimas necessárias para ter uma vida de qualidade. Porém, sabe-se que ainda existem sérias violações a essas garantias essenciais. Quando se adentra no sistema prisional do Brasil, encontra-se uma série de transgressões à dignidade humana e à vida. O histórico desse sistema, narra os acontecimentos desumanos e brutais, ocorridos nas unidades carcerárias do país, além das circunstâncias miseráveis as quais os internos estão submetidos. Esse problema é produto do descaso das autoridades competentes e do Estado brasileiro, que ignoram o fato de que os presidiários também são seres humanos, e necessitam de um mínimo de dignidade. Dessa forma, não há como efetivar a ressocialização dos presos. Sendo assim, devese buscar a reinserção dos presos por meio de uma política penitenciária, que objetive a reabilitação dos sujeitos apenados onde estes possam, quando cumprirem a pena, serem restabelecidos ao meio social, e consigam se realizar profissionalmente, tendo em vista a cidadania. Em virtude do que foi tratado acima, o presente artigo tem como metodologia, a análise bibliográfica de diversos artigos científicos, de sites de órgãos que tratam dos direitos humanos, e a avaliação do filme "O Prisioneiro da Grade de Ferro", de Paulo Sacramento. Por fim, é apresentado a realidade do sistema prisional do Brasil, os dispositivos que asseguram os direitos essenciais à vida digna, as violações cometidas nas unidades carcerárias, os casos que levaram o Brasil à responder perante a Corte Interamericana de Direitos Humanos, e as conclusões tiradas a partir do estudo, para se aproximar de um modelo de prisão que promova, de fato, a ressocialização dos internos.
