El 13 de septiembre de 1993 se firmaba la Declaración de Principios entre la Organización para la Liberación de Palestina (OLP) e Israel, conocida más genéricamente como los Acuerdos de Oslo. Tres décadas después, la situación humana y política de los territorios palestinos está considerablemente peor que antes. Lejos de las expectativas suscitadas entonces, se ha ampliado la ocupación, reforzado la dependencia palestina de Israel y eliminado la posibilidad de un Estado palestino viable. Pese a los avances de la cuestión de Palestina en la esfera internacional, no existe ninguna iniciativa ni compromiso internacional significativo que abogue por su defensa de manera efectiva. Por el contrario, se observa un palpable abandono de los esfuerzos políticos y diplomáticos en esa dirección entre las grandes potencias mundiales, regionales e, incluso, Estados árabes. Nada de esto excusa la excepcionalidad israelí como expresión de un arcaico, ilegal e inmoral colonialismo de asentamiento y régimen de apartheid. La pasividad o la neutralidad no son más que expresiones de complicidad ante situaciones de injusticia.
