Psychoanalysis And Ecology written by Cosimo Schinaia and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-04-01 with Psychology categories.

This book presents the psychoanalyst with the question of how our enormously modified environmental conditions determine our subjective mental changes and vice versa. The gravity of the environmental crisis is amply clear and yet, in the face of such incontrovertible evidence, there is an emotional, more than cognitive, difficulty in comprehending the present reality and its future consequences. In understanding the collective imagination as permeating the individual one and vice versa, this book investigates this relationship of mutual co-determination between the individual traumatic stories told and experienced in the consulting room and the positive or negative environmental attitudes exhibited by patients. The pairing of clinical vignettes with dispatches from the collective imagination sheds light on the confused affective investments and anxieties that propel pathological defenses, such as negation, suppression, intellectualization, displacement, and disavowal. The final chapter concludes with notes on the role of hope in a damaged world and the importance of integrity within the psychoanalytic field and beyond. This book will be of great interest to psychoanalysts, psychotherapists, and psychiatrists, as well as anthropologists, environmentalists, and ecologists.

THE MYSTERIOUS GUEST An enquiry on creativity from Arts Therapy's perspective. What is creativity? How does it work? How can it help us to improve our lives? The Mysterious Guest is a study of creativity, rooted in the ground of Arts Therapies. It opens with a general definition of creativity, and then explores two main themes: 1. Its importance in the healthy development of individuals, therefore its value as a resource in therapeutic, educational and social fields; 2. A thorough analysis of the creative process, showing how it works and reflecting on the possibilities of activating, managing, and assessing it. The discussion on creativity is enriched with discussions and examples ranging from neurosciences to psychoanalysis, from literature to the history of art, from philosophy to symbolism, from science to poetry. The results of the treatment are synthesized, at the end of the second and the fourth part, in two clear and coherent patterns, graphically visualized. It is the first book on the creativity issue written from an Arts Therapies point of view; it offers a model of creativity that explores the complexity of the phenomenon, but at the same time it is a model that is easy to understand and rich of practical cues. It is a creatively written book in which scientific thought and poetry meet.

The book is divided into three parts, covering: Memory and the unconscious The dream: between neuroscience and psychoanalysis Further reflections on narcissism and other clinical topics Feeling the Words offers an original perspective on the connection between memory and the unconscious. When The Body Speaks written by Donald Campbell and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-11-14 with Psychology categories.

This book is based on the work done by a group of British and Italian psychoanalysts who have been meeting twice yearly since 2003 to study clinically the relationship between the mind and the body of their patients. The analytical dyad became the focus of a dialectical movement between body and mind and between subject and object. Containing contributions from a range of distinguished British and Italian analysts, this book covers such key topics as somatic symptoms, the embodied unconscious, bodily expressions of affect, sexuality, violence, self-harm, suicide attempts, hypochondria, hysteria, anorexia and bulimia, and splits and fragmentation associated with the body. The theoretical understanding is inspired by various psychoanalytic theoreticians, including Freud, M. Klein, Winnicott and Bion and their theories on sexuality, infantile sexuality, libido, aggressiveness, death instinct, Oedipus complex and mother–child relationship. Offering new advances in theoretical thinking and practical applications for clinical work, this book will be essential for all psychoanalysts and mental health clinicians interested in understanding serious mental disturbance that is represented in the body.

An individual has the potentiality to develop himself/herself during each period of his/her life. This potential for development can be affected by many diff- ent factors. These factors are divided into two main areas as internal factors and external factors. The common assumption is that internal factors are more effective than external factors. This is the dilemma about learning which p- cess of lifelong learning is related to self-actualization. In this paper, discussion is limited to concept of lifelong learning and self actualization. LIFELONG LEARNING An individual can take proper support form many components such as family, education system, media and peers. However, they may not provide proper s- port for the individual. Thus, the individual needs more pedagogical support to solve problems of life, develop his/her skills and capabilities. The pedagogical support should be given by educational system. Teaching and learning in some areas such as math, science, drawing, social studies and so on were de ned as pedagogical support in the past. But, this approach is weakening in today. During teaching and learning processes teacher and learner should focus on the learning rather than the teaching. The concept of learning is likely to be argued in many dimensions. The c- cepts of teaching and learning tend to be rede ned based on the latest changes.
