The use of cognitive science in creating stories, languages, visuals, and characters is known as narrative generation, and it has become a trending area of study. Applying artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to story development has caught the attention of professionals and researchers; however, few studies have inherited techniques used in previous literary methods and related research in social sciences. Implementing previous narratology theories to current narrative generation systems is a research area that remains unexplored. Bridging the Gap Between AI, Cognitive Science, and Narratology With Narrative Generation is a collection of innovative research on the analysis of current practices in narrative generation systems by combining previous theories in narratology and literature with current methods of AI. The book bridges the gap between AI, cognitive science, and narratology with narrative generation in a broad sense, including other content generation, such as a novels, poems, movies, computer games, and advertisements. The book emphasizes that an important method for bridging the gap is based on designing and implementing computer programs using knowledge and methods of narratology and literary theories. In order to present an organic, systematic, and integrated combination of both the fields to develop a new research area, namely post-narratology, this book has an important place in the creation of a new research area and has an impact on both narrative generation studies, including AI and cognitive science, and narrative studies, including narratology and literary theories. It is ideally designed for academicians, researchers, and students, as well as enterprise practitioners, engineers, and creators of diverse content generation fields such as advertising production, computer game creation, comic and manga writing, and movie production.

Starting with a Laurea in Ingegneria Elettronica and a PhD in Computer and Systems Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino, Tiziana has stayed faithful to her love of organized management of composable functionalities in software and systems, with building blocks and MDD, and she strives for coherence and alignment in complex systems through verification, model checking and workflow synthesis. Her quest for simplicity spans technologies (low-code/no-code; ITSy project), business (Business Model Canvas; tools for innovative business models) and disciplines with her concept of the Digital Thread, a metaphor for IT-mediated interoperation of reusable and ideally verified tools and systems in new platforms where reuse, repurposing and evolution are supported by design. Her most recent initiative, R@ISE, aims at opening the world of IT production and adaptation to a wider range of users and professions. Tiziana is a cofounder and managing editor of the International Journal on Software Tools for Technology Transfer, she cofounded the ISoLA conference, and cofounded METAFrame Technologies serving as CEO. She is a Fellow of the Society for Design and Process Science and a Fellow and President of the Irish Computer Society. Throughout her career Tiziana’s successes have been motivated by how best to advance science and engineering through the implementation of techniques in challenging applications, and the contributions in this volume by leading researchers are representative of a community that shares this drive.

Apocalyptic Ai Visions Of Heaven In Robotics Artificial Intelligence And Virtual Reality written by Robert M. Geraci and has been published by Oxford University Press, USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-02-05 with Religion categories.

Apocalyptic AI, the hope that we might one day upload our minds into machines or cyberspace and live forever, is a surprisingly wide-spread and influential idea, affecting everything from the world view of online gamers to government research funding and philosophical thought. In Apocalyptic AI, Robert Geraci offers the first serious account of this "cyber-theology" and the people who promote it. Drawing on interviews with roboticists and AI researchers and with devotees of the online game Second Life, among others, Geraci illuminates the ideas of such advocates of Apocalyptic AI as Hans Moravec and Ray Kurzweil. He reveals that the rhetoric of Apocalyptic AI is strikingly similar to that of the apocalyptic traditions of Judaism and Christianity. In both systems, the believer is trapped in a dualistic universe and expects a resolution in which he or she will be translated to a transcendent new world and live forever in a glorified new body. Equally important, Geraci shows how this worldview shapes our culture. Apocalyptic AI has become a powerful force in modern culture. In this superb volume, he shines a light on this belief system, revealing what it is and how it is changing society.
