BRING ME FLOWERS IN APRIL is a collection of diverse attention-gripping poems; carefully crafted to leave the reader itching for every poem till the last word of the last poem. It could be likened to a keg of freshly tapped palm wine served to the average reader-visitor whose reading or sipping ride is bound to have him/her consume the entire book-keg; asking for more. This anthology attempts to beam its torchlight on several issues that poke a man in his eyes as he tries to find his way around the vicissitudes of life. It presents a foray into the human nature and a literary painting of life for what it really is. Themes of grief, depression, pain, nostalgia, love, heartbreak, gratitude, healing and hope among others have found their place in this collection.

‘WOW WOW WOW!!!!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!… From literally the first page you're hooked and gripped!! Kept on the edge of my seat throughout I just couldn't put it down… my new all time favourite author!!… I just wish I could've given it more than five stars!!!' Goodreads Reviewer, 5 stars She didn’t know he was watching. Until it was too late. She’d walked this way hundreds of times before. She knew every twist and turn. She didn’t know this was the last time she’d ever walk this path. Hidden deep in the forest, schoolgirl Felicity Parker is found carefully laid out on a rock with nothing but a freshly picked bunch of flowers next to her. The body lies just off a popular hiking route, and Detective Jenna Alton thinks the killer might be a visitor to the town, until another girl’s body is found at the local swimming pool, once again posed with a bunch of flowers. Jenna recognizes the signs of a serial killer, and thinks it could be a local. As the town is gripped with fear, Jenna must examine each person the girls knew, and trust between neighbors starts to crumble. Both girls went out on their own, and were found where they shouldn’t be. Were they taken by chance, or did they know their killer? How were they lured so far from safety? And can Jenna and her team find the killer before another life is lost? An absolutely nail-biting thriller that will keep you up all night. If you enjoy Robert Dugoni, Karin Slaughter and Rachel Abbott, you’ll love this! **Each Kane and Alton book can be read as part of the series or as a standalone** What readers are saying about Bring Me Flowers: ‘Oh my flipping goodness!!... kept me guessing until the very last page… I cannot fault this book at all – if I could read it all over again for the very first time, I would jump at the chance… Hard hitting, addictive, and incredibly chilling… A truly toe curling read – fantastic!' Never Give Up written by Demetrius Belcher and has been published by iUniverse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-12-28 with Poetry categories.

This book was written while I was in jail from October 24, 2003, until January 4, 2005. I wrote these poems about my wife and how I felt about her and our marriage. I also wrote for other inmates to send to their ladies. As I wrote, I reflected on my mistakes and mostly on God. I wanted this book to capture the essence of true love and forgiveness. This book is about never giving up on anything you care about. Work hard at accomplishing your goals. Put your right foot forward as they say, but I say trust God and you can do all things through Him.

Nazis Women And Molecular Biologie written by Gunther Siegmund Stent and has been published by Transaction Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Social Science categories.

What prompts a well-renowned scientist in molecular biology to write memoirs about a part of his life? In the case of Gunther Stent, it was not to reflect on his career as a scientist, but to come to an understanding of his own soul. In his seventies, he had come to see that he had been, throughout his life, an emotional sleepwalker, especially as regards women and, in addition, that he had been troubled by Jewish self-hatred. His story may have more to do with St. Augustine's Confessions than with a scientist's memoirs. Stent provides insight into the power of political correctness, and the ability of a government to establish a perverse vision of reality. For readers interested in bioethics, Stent's memoirs help to explain how Germany could have been the first country to enact an all-encompassing protection for human research subjects while it was also the country that produced the medical experiments of the Nazis and the greatest perversion of medical morality in history. Stent is a person of intelligence and subtlety, an accomplished writer, a deep and wise man, and a loyal friend. His narrative is centered emotionally on a youth spent in Berlin in the Nazi period. As a boy of fourteen he was an eyewitness of the horrors of the Kristallnacht pogrom. On New Year's Eve 1938 he escaped from Germany across the "green frontier." He came to America in his teens, only to return to Berlin at the end of World War II as a scientific consultant for the U.S. Military. On his return to the States, Stent participated in the exciting early scientific breakthroughs of molecular biology that transformed the twentieth-century life sciences. His Nazis, Women and Molecular Biology is a piercing self-examination, and as its review in Science Newsletter says, "an act of self-exposure, abnegation, contrition, and expiation." It will be of keen interest to those who have inhabited Stent's worlds or shared his experiences, as well as those who wish to learn more about them. Gunther S. Stent is professor emeritus of neurobiology at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of such classic texts as Molecular Biology of Bacterial Viruses and Molecular Genetics, as well as philosophical books, such as The Coming of the Golden Age, Paradoxes of Progress, and, most recently (2002), Paradoxes of Free Will.

Queen Of The Virgins written by M. Cynthia Oliver and has been published by Univ. Press of Mississippi this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-06-30 with Social Science categories.

Beauty pageants are wildly popular in the U.S. Virgin Islands, outnumbering any other single performance event and capturing the attention of the local people from toddlers to seniors. Local beauty contests provide women opportunities to demonstrate talent, style, the values of black womanhood, and the territory's social mores. Queen of the Virgins: Pageantry and Black Womanhood in the Caribbean is a comprehensive look at the centuries-old tradition of these expressions in the Virgin Islands. M. Cynthia Oliver maps the trajectory of pageantry from its colonial precursors at tea meetings, dance dramas, and street festival parades to its current incarnation as the beauty pageant or “queen show.” For the author, pageantry becomes a lens through which to view the region's understanding of gender, race, sexuality, class, and colonial power. Focusing on the queen show, Oliver reveals its twin roots in slave celebrations that parodied white colonial behavior and created Creole royal rituals and celebrations heavily influenced by Africanist aesthetics. Using the U.S. Virgin Islands as an intriguing case study, Oliver shows how the pageant continues to reflect, reinforce, and challenge Caribbean cultural values concerning femininity. Queen of the Virgins examines the journey of the black woman from degraded body to vaunted queen and how this progression is marked by social unrest, growing middle-class sensibilities, and contemporary sexual and gender politics.
