This book is designed for people going on their Year Abroad as part of their university course. A Year Abroad can be a very daunting and exciting prospect; you're going to live in a foreign country where they have a different culture, a different language and all of this can throw up a lot of different challenges. Therefore, it can be difficult to know exactly what you should or shouldn't do in order to make the most of your time abroad. In this book, I recount my adventures from my Year Abroad, working in Spain and studying in France. I decided to write this book because I wish there'd been something like this available before I went abroad, just to give me some peace of mind that it would all be ok. Obviously, everybody's experience is different, but not knowing anybody who'd ever done a Year Abroad made it seem extra challenging: how do you fit 4 months worth of stuff into one suitcase? What is it like working in Spain? Do people really kiss each other on the cheek when they greet each other in Europe? How many kisses do you do?
