In „Bubu“ dokumentiert der 1933 geborene Peter Lesser um seinen 65. Geburtstag herum (24.6.1998) mit enormer Erinnerungskraft und unverstelltem Blick Kindheits- und Jugenderlebnisse in Spiel- und Sportgruppen und in Schulklassen mit all ihren gruppendynamischen Prozessen und Konflikten aus der diktaturgeprägten Zeit in Chemnitz vor und nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Für den späteren Gründer der Hamburger Institution „sportspaߠe.V.“ stand schon damals die Sportbegeisterung immer im Mittelpunkt seines Lebens. Doch wurde selbst diese überschattet von der Verfolgung und zeitweisen Inhaftierung seines Vaters im Konzentrationslager Sachsenburg durch die Nationalsozialisten. Nach 1945 gab es immer größere Schwierigkeiten mit der Planbürokratie der SED – so dass sich die Familie Anfang der 1950er Jahre gezwungen sah, nach Hamburg überzusiedeln. Die Erzählungen führen zurück in das Deutschland der Kriegs- und Nachkriegsjahre des vergangenen Jahrhunderts und zeichnen ein vielschichtiges Bild dieser mehr als schwierigen Zeit. Sie zeigen, wie sehr die weltpolitische Lage dieser Jahre Lebenswege beeinflusst hat. Den Herausgeberinnen waren die Erzählungen vor dem Tode des Ehemannes und Vaters nicht bekannt. Er verfügte in seinem Testament, dass seine Erinnerungen posthum herauszugeben seien und hat vor seinem Tod hierüber nur sehr selten und dann nur in Andeutungen gesprochen. Dieses Buch stellt nur einen Teil des umfangreichen literarischen Nachlasses von Peter Lesser dar. The first of January 1999 marked the beginning of a macroeconomic experi ment without precedent in modern history. For the first time eleven European countries agreed to abolish their local currencies in favour of a single one, the Euro.
