This is the legend of Mike Buckerfield, a humble lad who can be kind of a demon but who is not a bad guy, overall. Because of his mom that totally doesn't get it, our hero Mike is enrolled against his will into prestigious Wentworth Academy where tradition and academic excellence are as solid as it's 1895 cornerstone. Bla, bla, bla. Who cares?Anyway, the snobby Academy is overrun by rich pukes with upturned noses that don't drain properly. Although they are not nearly as dangerous as public school kids, they sniff a lot and Mike is pretty sure he will never like any of them, because who could? As if that isn't bad enough, three teachers immediately start picking on poor Mike. They are: A. Ms. Shernick -The epitome of Evil. B. Mr. Proffitt - Basically a moron. C. Mr. Butler - A big, fat, plaid doofus. (And the lunch lady isn't very nice either.) They don't like Mike 's attitude, and to be fair, who could blame them? But the cool kids befriend our hero because Mike is as dangerous as jalapeno salsa and as exotic as a pet lion. Mike could actually have a chance at this school until his friends turn on him over an itty bitty little disaster and then everything turns to crap. Anyway, Mike is about to go berserk when the principal of the school (Mike's natural enemy) gets really disgusted with Mike one day. He decides to do an experiment which turns out to be the most awesome consequence ever to happen to a nearly 13 year old...ever...

Winner (Honourable Mention), 2014 BC Historical Federation Lieutenant-Governor's Medal for Historical Writing. Each year, visitors from all parts of the globe find their way to a sequestered Benedictine monastery in the hills of Mission, BC, and view the art and sculptures that beautify the abbey and its walls. But the man responsible for this work rarely ventures outside the monastery, never mind the province. He is an artist who has seen few of the masterpieces of Western art that inspire him in person; he is a musician who has seldom attended a concert; and he is an intellectual who, at his own insistence, dropped out of high school as early as he could. Acknowledged by some as one of the major British Columbian artists of his generation, Dunstan Massey could have developed a successful public career in Vancouver or Toronto as an artist or musician—or perhaps even as an actor or academic. But none of this happened because at the age of 18 he renounced every one of these possibilities and dedicated his life to God. Daphne Sleigh introduces both the artist and his art in this fascinating and lavishly illustrated new biography.

Plant Soil Interactions At Low Ph Principles And Management written by R.A. Date and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Nature categories.

The understanding of plant-soil interactions in acid soils is important for improved food production in many parts of the world. The context of the book touches on basic and applied aspects of the physics, chemistry and biology of acid soils and their effect on growth of plants. It contains a large section on management of acid soils for plant (food) production and on socioeconomic aspects of management of acid soils. This is important because a large portion of the world's acid soils occurs in less developed countries. Plant-Soil Interactions at Low pH: Principles and Management contains a substantial number of papers, including nine invited reviews, presented at the Third International Symposium of Plant-Soil Interactions at Low pH. The major themes include chemistry and physics of acid soils, microbial and faunal activity in acid soils, mechanisms of acid tolerance of plants, selection and breeding of acid-tolerant plants, diagnosis and correction of acid soil infertility, socioeconomic aspects of acid soil management and management systems for agriculture, horticulture and forestry on acid soils.
