Though perhaps better known for political activism through his creation of the Moral Majority, the late Dr. Jerry Falwell's personal activities confirmed his passion for being a pastor and a Christian educator. Out of this desire to teach and lead, he wrote Building Dynamic Faith so that readers would know God better and see their lives radically changed for Him. Divided into 31 chapters, Building Dynamic Faith is perfect for a month of daily readings, but it is more than simply a devotional. Readers will progress from a simple understanding of faith, to practicing the skills needed to exercise their faith, and finally to experiencing the blessing of God through answered prayer.

The ministry of catechesis is critical to the mission of the Church, and the most critical factor in an effective parish catechetical program is the catechetical leader. But for these leaders to succeed in their role, they must develop specific leadership skills and competencies. This second volume of The Effective Catechetical Leader series closely examines what catechetical leadership should look like, how it should work, and whom it should serve. A few of the key topics covered in this book include how to be a servant leader while still exercising legitimate authority; how to properly and pastorally handle difficult situations and conflict to build community; how to avoid burnout by delegating responsibility and engaging in collaborative ministry; and so much more. The Effective Catechetical Leader series, developed in conjunction with the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership and written by some of the top catechetical leaders in the country, is the only series to encompass all the various aspects of catechetical leadership. This series provides the practical skills, strategies, and approaches that ensure successful parish faith formation in an evangelizing manner, which leads directly to a vibrant Church. From best practices to new approaches for proclaiming God’s word in a rapidly changing world, this groundbreaking series will empower catechetical leaders to excel at everything from administrative duties to effectively catechizing people of all ages within our diverse Church.

Rivalry And Reform written by Sidney M. Milkis and has been published by University of Chicago Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-25 with Political Science categories.
Few relationships have proved more pivotal in changing the course of American politics than those between presidents and social movements. For all their differences, both presidents and social movements are driven by a desire to recast the political system, often pursuing rival agendas that set them on a collision course. Even when their interests converge, these two actors often compete to control the timing and conditions of political change. During rare historical moments, however, presidents and social movements forged partnerships that profoundly recast American politics. Rivalry and Reform explores the relationship between presidents and social movements throughout history and into the present day, revealing the patterns that emerge from the epic battles and uneasy partnerships that have profoundly shaped reform. Through a series of case studies, including Abraham Lincoln and abolitionism, Lyndon Johnson and the civil rights movement, and Ronald Reagan and the religious right, Sidney M. Milkis and Daniel J. Tichenor argue persuasively that major political change usually reflects neither a top-down nor bottom-up strategy but a crucial interplay between the two. Savvy leaders, the authors show, use social movements to support their policy goals. At the same time, the most successful social movements target the president as either a source of powerful support or the center of opposition. The book concludes with a consideration of Barack Obama’s approach to contemporary social movements such as Black Lives Matter, United We Dream, and Marriage Equality.

Rescuing Jesus written by Deborah Jian Lee and has been published by Beacon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-10-25 with Social Science categories.
An inside look at the young, diverse, and progressive Christians who are transforming the evangelical movement Deborah Jian Lee left the evangelical world because she was frustrated by its conservative politics. But over the years, she noticed how evangelical culture and politics were changing—and moving in a more progressive direction. What Lee came to find is that most of what we think we know about evangelicals is wrong, or is well on its way to becoming dated. In Rescuing Jesus, she ventures into the world of progressive evangelicalism, telling the stories of those at the forefront of a movement that could change the face and the substance of religion in the United States. These men and women are a young and diverse array of people—LGBTQ and straight; white, black, Asian, Hispanic, and indigenous—who are working to wrest political power away from conservatives. These young evangelicals are more likely than their elders to accept same-sex marriage, more inclined to think of “pro-life” issues as being about supporting society’s disenfranchised, and more accepting of equality between men and women. With empathy, journalistic rigor, and powerful storytelling, Lee unpacks the diverse and complex strands of this movement—and what it means for the rest of us. Given the clout that evangelicals still hold in national politics, Lee argues, this movement is important not only for the future of evangelicalism but also for the future of our country.

Rules For Radical Christians written by Nelson R Foster and has been published by WestBow Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-10-04 with Religion categories.
This book is a brutal expose’ of religion’s failure to keep and preserve our Godly American culture and the unconventional answer to restore the cultural soul that is rightfully ours to maintain. It exposes the history and spiritual influences behind the decline and the process Christians can follow to reverse that decline. Liberals may claim that they are godless Atheists, but the truth is, they are following the doctrines of Lucifer and following a game plan taught by followers of Lucifer. We are losing a spiritual battle by fighting with the tools of the flesh: logic, reason, emotion, science, and the law. We are bound to lose. We need to learn the rules and methods that have been proven to work spiritually against a ruthless spiritual opponent. Liberals know full well that they are fighting for the soul of our nation. We need to realize that the soul they are fighting for is the complete corruption and loss of the Godly soul our founding fathers tried to establish for our nation. It not only presents the problem but also provides the solution to our problem and the promise that the problem of ungodliness in our culture can be reversed. Godliness can be restored. We are also fighting for the soul of our nation. It is NOT the same soul that the Liberals are trying to preserve. They have corrupted our nation by deception. We can restore the national soul they corrupted with the truth.

There is a movement within Christianity, and our culture, that states faith and reason are enemies. This is not the case, and is detrimental to the Christian life. The two work together to make us better disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.
