The world is on a cusp of something great. Technology has advanced from solving simple issues to complex issues in both human life and other aspects such as social, economic, and environmental issues. The significance of machine intelligence as a tool to propel human as well as economic development is an important and hot topic today. This book is about how modern machine intelligence, AI, and machine learning applications can be used by governments and firms for financial and economic inclusion, as well as for providing solutions to bridge the digital divide. It aims to cover philosophical discussions, frameworks, and applications on central topics in machine intelligence, deep learning, mesh networks, frugal engineering, frugal innovation, blockchain technology, alternate networks, and intelligent digital financial inclusion system architectures. This book also aims to discuss the initiatives, policies, strategies, and governance issues related to furnishing technologies for technology access, financial inclusion and in turn economic growth. Financial inclusion is defined as the proportion of people and corporations that use financial services. It further describes the fair, equal, and attainable access to financial services (Rawat et al., 2023). Financial inclusion is key to economic inclusion and economic growth as it enables the poor to improve their lives. Chapters in the book will improve our understanding of the advances and challenges of applying machine intelligence for financial inclusion and economic growth in different contexts including financial markets, governments, and corporations in both developing and developed countries. Access to financial services is essential to development efforts of markets, economies and eventually societies. Hence, in this context, financial inclusion can be explained as the process of ensuring that individuals particular impoverished people have access to essential financial services in the formal financial sector. Financial inclusion, recently, has been receiving traction from scholars and policymakers whereby it is one of the major strategies used by economies and societies in achieving UN’s sustainable development goals. Rawat et al. (2023) argues that it is vital to increase the use of “low-cost digital methods” for the economically marginalized and under-served people and sectors. There is a need for financial inclusion for the rapidly dynamic Industry 4.0. Therefore, linking technology, more particularly machine intelligence with financial inclusion and technology access is quite crucial given the current technological environment. Additionally, financial inclusion helps in enhancing the level of economic and social inclusion in many societies and developing countries as well as help in reducing poverty levels. Policy makers in several countries continue to commit significant resources and technologies to increase the level of financial inclusion in their countries to reduce financial exclusion. In developing countries, financial inclusion remains below potential in part due to the digital divide, limited technology access and the challenge for financial institutions in developing products for the low-income mass market (Hook IV, 2019; Marimuthu et al., 2022). These matters are important topics to be researched and discussed, especially with the advancement of technology such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, business intelligence, online education, in the current post-pandemic environment which catalysed these digital transformations. Therefore, this book has been proposed to discuss a very important and emerging topics which contributes significantly to policy and the SDGs in the digital economy.

In the evolving digital era, the fusion of physical and digital brand experiences—known as phygitalization—has become essential for brand relevance and success. As consumers increasingly expect seamless, meaningful interactions across both online and offline spaces, brands must strategically balance digital innovation with emotional authenticity. Effective brand management today involves not only delivering quality and efficiency but also creating culturally resonant, personalized experiences that inspire loyalty and action. This shift transforms branding from a corporate asset into a cultural symbol, deeply embedded in the identity and values of the communities it serves. This ability to master this synergy defines a brand’s competitive edge in the 21st century. Brand Creation and Management in the Phygital Era discusses in depth how to create and manage brands in physical and digital environments, taking into consideration the complexities and opportunities of phygitalization. It offers practical strategies, research insights, and neuro-branding techniques to build emotionally resonant and culturally relevant brands in a hybrid world. Covering topics such as brand credibility, influencer marketing, and virtual reality (VR), this book is an excellent resource for entrepreneurs, marketers, managers, students, educators, business leaders, researchers, academicians, and more.

According to Serpa (in MDPI encyclopedia) [3], Society 5.0 can be realized as a concept and a guide for social development, with a profound impact on current societal structures in multiple levels. Society 5.0 achieves advanced convergence between cyberspace and physical space, enabling AI-based on big data and robots to perform or support as an agent the work and adjustments that humans have done up to now. Deguchi et al., [4] define Society 5.0 as a highly intelligent society based on generation, processing, exchange of data, and more specifically knowledge, through the connection of the physical environment with the cyberspace. Achieving Society 5.0 with these attributes would enable the world to realize economic development while solving key social problems. It would additionally contribute to achieving the SDGs established by the United Nations. Despite the differences in formulation of the names of these periods and societies, it is obvious that each of them became a basis for step like growth in developed society; at, specific time periods, scale, character and depth of these changes are different in different countries. Consequently, to address the aims of the book, it seeks exploratory, empirical, interpretive, and theoretical research built on either primary or secondary data. The approaches suggested are not exhaustive and can be extended upon by the researchers. In addition, the book will contribute towards the UN’s sustainable development goals. In support of UN’s efforts towards a more digital economy, this book aims to debate and discuss the history, genesis, future, opportunities, and challenges of transitioning to Society 5.0. and provides a holistic perspective on a variety of topics special topics which contribute towards the optimal attainment of the SDGs, particularly in terms of socialdimensions. Finally, this book provides a platform for researchers, academics, and professionals to the transition and technological enablers of industrial revolutions through empirical or exploratory studies that use a variety of innovative approaches. The target audience of the book includes researchers and scholars who will find in its comprehensive knowledge about industry 4, industry 5, society 5 and its contribution to economic growth and sustainable development goals (SDGs). Furthermore, the book’s secondary target audience are teachers, managers, strategists, professionals, governments, and policymakers.

Computers and machines were developed to reduce time consumption and manual human efforts to complete projects efficiently. With fast-growing technologies in the field, we have finally reached a stage where almost everyone in the world has access to these high technologies. However, this is just a starting phase because future development is taking a more advanced route in the shape of artificial intelligence (AI). Although AI is under the computer science umbrella, nowadays there is no field unaffected by this high technology. The overall aim of using intelligence learning methods is to train machines to think intelligently and make decisions in different situations the same as humans. Previously, machines were doing what they were programmed to do, but now with AI, devices can think and behave like a human being. This book aims to present the application of advanced analytics and AI in different industries as practical tools to develop prediction, optimization, and make decision models.
