Este libro proporciona una visión general sobre dos grandes temas de máximo interés y actualidad: el mundo de la calidad y las actividades de “Investigación, Desarrollo e innovación” (I+D+i). En concreto, se centra en su aplicación en el sector de las TIC (Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación). Su contenido se ha dividido en dos partes. La primera versa sobre calidad, presenta la aplicación de modelos y estándares en proyectos TIC y aporta ejemplos prácticos y algunas reflexiones que permiten concretar las ideas teóricas. Incluye las recientes ediciones de los estándares, como ISO 9001:20008, ISO 9004:2009 o referencias a la norma UNE-EN 62430:2009 sobre Diseño ecológico de productos eléctricos y electrónicos. En la segunda parte se aborda su aplicación en las actividades de I+D+i: se definen estos términos y se avanza en el conocimiento de su gestión, prestando especial atención a la familia UNE 166.000 y describiendo conceptos relevantes como la cooperación tecnológica, la transferencia de tecnología o la protección y explotación de los resultados. Como ejemplo ilustrativo, el lector podrá conocer los apartados que debe tener una memoria para cumplir requisitos normativos, dónde obtener información, en qué consiste el diagnóstico tecnológico, la vigilancia tecnológica o la gestión de riesgos, los diferentes tipos de certificación que puede obtener una empresa que trabaje en I+D+i y los beneficios fiscales a los que se puede acoger. Además, se complementa con un capítulo destinado a describir diferentes herramientas útiles a la hora de implantar actividades de I+D+i con criterios de calidad. El libro está dirigido principalmente al alumnado universitario de perfil tecnológico y al público en general interesado por esta materia.
