Buku ini berasakan sebuah manuskrip Cam berjudul CM39(36) yang telah memberi banyak keterangan terhadap peristiwa bersejarah yang berlaku di Kemboja pada pertengahan abad ke-19. Pemberontakan tiga orang adik-beradik yang dilantik oleh istana Oudong telah berlaku pada tahun 1858 telah menyebabkan kemarahan Raja ang Duong sehingga baginda menghantar satu angkatan tentera yang besar ke timur Kemboja untuk membanteras pemberontakan tersebut. Beliau mengarahkan semua orang Cam di Kawasan tersebut untuk berpindah ke kawasan yang berhampiran ibu negara Oudong. dalam pada itu, satu kumpulan besar yang diketuai seorang pembesar Cam yang bergelar Po dengan pengikutnya yang ramai telah pun bersedia untuk berpindah sebelum datangnya arahan baginda Raja. Tuanku Po telah menyediakan beberapa pasukan tentera orang Cam-Melayu untuk membantu pasukan diraja. Peristiwa penghijrahan dan bantuan ketenteraan pasukan Tuanku po diceritakan dengan panjang lebar. Hal ini tidak pernah disebut dalam mana-mana sumber sama ada Khmer mahupun Perancis
