Four years ago I was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer that was spreading rapidly through my body ( metastasizing). I was told unequivocally by my surgeon that I must have an operation to remove part of my colon or I would surely die. Had I agreed to the operation, I would have had to wear a colostomy bag. I refused. A friend told me about the remarkable healing effects of cannabis oil. Cannabis oil was a new thing to me but rather than have the operation I decided to follow up on my friend's advice. My family doctor who was from Iran did not hesitate to issue a medical cannabis oil license to me. he, too, had heard and seen the miraculous results of cannabis oil treating and curing cancer. I did, however, have a short bout of radiation and chemo, both of which made me very sick, The idea was to reduce the tumor so the operation could commence. For the cancer patient, cannabis has a number of potential benefits, especially in the management of symptoms. Significant changes have taken place in the policy landscape surrounding cannabis legalization, production, and use. During the past 20 years, 25 states and the District of Columbia have legalized cannabis and/or cannabidiol (a component of cannabis) for medical conditions or retail sales at the state level and 4 states have legalized both the medical and recreational use of cannabis. These landmark changes in policy have impacted cannabis use patterns and perceived levels of risk.
