Ilê Aiyê's unifying identity politics through Afro-Carnival performance, is embedded in its dialectical relationship with the rest of Brazil as it takes ownership of its oppressed status by striving for racial equality and economic empowerment. Against this complex background, performative theory offers significant new meanings. In ritualistically integrating Bakhtinian categories of free interaction, eccentric behavior, carnivalistic misalliances, and the sacrilegious, Ilê Aiyê anchors its social discourse on showcasing the black race as a critical agency of beauty, pride, wisdom, subversion, and negotiation. Ilê Aiyê carnival is not only racially conscious, it heightens the conflicts by dislocating the very establishment that invests in its cultural politics. In fusing the sacred, the profane, the performative, the musical, with the political, Ilê Aiyê succeeds in indicting racism, ironically sacrificing the very power it pursues. Despite these limitations, Ilê Aiyê creatively engages alternative dialogues on Brazilian politics through sponsored performances across transnational borders.

O livro objetiva analisar as relações entre o regime de informação da indústria de petróleo e gás natural no Brasil e as mudanças no marco regulatório dessa indústria. Supõe-se que exista um regime de informação associado às formas de regulação nessa indústria, no Brasil e no mundo. Especificamente, foram identificadas as estratégias para circulação e apropriação de informação e conhecimento das empresas públicas e privadas na indústria petrolífera brasileira; foram observadas as relações entre o aparato regulador e as dinâmicas de informação e conhecimento na indústria do petróleo no Brasil; e foram verificadas, no marco regulatório, diretrizes orientadas para o estímulo à ciência, tecnologia e inovação na indústria de petróleo, e suas implicações para o regime de informação nessa área. A partir da periodização da evolução do marco regulatório de petróleo e gás natural no país, foram identificados como aspectos centrais do respectivo regime de informação: capacidade tecnológica e incentivo à pesquisa e desenvolvimento; capacitação de profissionais especializados; regime de dados e informações geológicas, vigilância e segredo; circulação de conhecimento tácito. Para cumprimento dos objetivos, adotou-se uma metodologia que compreendesse um levantamento bibliográfico sobre o regime de informação e do marco regulatório da indústria de petróleo e gás natural no Brasil, a observação das transformações do marco regulatório no caso brasileiro e entrevistas do tipo semiestruturadas com técnicos de empresas de petróleo e instituições que organizam a indústria petrolífera. Na análise da interseção entre as transformações no marco regulatório da indústria de petróleo e gás natural no Brasil e o respectivo regime de informação que dá conta das dinâmicas de produção e circulação da informação e do conhecimento no setor, demonstram-se os processes agonísticos que envolvem essas relações.
