El Catálogo Colectivo del Patrimonio Bibliográfico Español: Impresos del siglo XVII contiene los publicados en España y los aparecidos en el extranjero en cualquiera de las lenguas españolas. El objetivo último del Catálogo es dar noticia de todos los ejemplares localizados en nuestras bibliotecas. En esta primera edición, considerada base, se registran los impresos existentes en las siguientes bibliotecas: - Biblioteca Nacional - Biblioteca del Monasterio de El Escorial - Biblioteca del Palacio Real - Biblioteca de la Universidad Complutense (General y de todas las Facultades) - Bilbioteca de la Real Academia Española - Biblioteca de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando. - Biblioteca de la Fundación Lázaro Galdiano. Para esta primera edición se han descrito un total aproximado de 22.700 ejemplares, lo que constituye un elevado porcentaje de lo que efectivamente se publicó en este período. Para la descripción bibliográfica se han adoptado las normas internacionales ISBD (A), para lograr la uniformidad catalográfica y, sobre todo, permitir el intercambio nacional e internacional de información. El Catálogo se ofrece ordenado alfabéticamente, por autor o título en las obras anónimas. Se facilitan, de cada edición, los datos de autor o autores y colaboradores de las obras que incluye; de título o títulos; de editores científicos o literarios, y de ilustradores. Se indica el lugar de impresión y/o de edición, los nombres de los impresores, y, si son conocidos, de los editores y/o distribuidores, el formato, la paginación o foliación, las signaturas tipográficas y si contienen ilustraciones. Consta, finalmente, cualquier dato útil para una más perfecta identificación de la edición. Sobre los ejemplares localizados de cada edición se indica: la biblioteca en que se hallan, su signatura topográfica, y, cuando es preciso o se conoce, su procedencia, su estado de conservación, si es defectuoso, su encuadernación, si es valiosa, la existencia de anotaciones manuscritas de interés, de ilustraciones específicas del ejemplar y cualquier otro dato útil para una más perfecta identificación del mismo. Cada tomo incluye, además, con vistas a multiplicar las posibilidades de búsqueda y facilitar el manejo, los siguientes índices. - Onomástico. (Recoge tanto los autores principales como los secundarios y las Instituciones.) - Combinado de lugares de publicación e impresión y editores, y año. - Ilustradores. (En éste se recoge, de forma separada respecto al onomástico, las menciones de los grabadores y dibujantes.) Dado el carácter de exhaustividad de este Catálogo Colectivo, es obra imprescindible para los estudiosos y especialistas en las siguientes materias: Bellas Artes; Lengua y Literatura; Historia de las ideas y del pensamiento; Ciencia y técnica; Historia política y social; Historia del derecho en las instituciones. This book examines the vre of Anna Maria Ortese (1914-1998) from her first literary writings in the Thirties to her great novels in the Nineties. The analysis focusses on two interweaving core themes, loss and the Other. It begins with the shaping of personal loss of an Other following death, separation, abandonment, coupled with melancholy for life's transience as depicted in autobiographical works and in her masterpiece Il porto di Toledo. The book then addresses Ortese's literary engagement with social themes in realist stories set in post-war Naples in her collection Il mare non bagna Napoli and then explores her continuing preoccupation with socio-ethical issues, imbued with autobiographical elements, in non-realist texts, including her masterful novels L'Iguana, Il cardillo addolorato and Alonso e i visionari The book combines theme and genre analysis, highlighting Ortese's adoption and hybridization of diverse literary forms such as poetry, the novel, the short story, the essay, autobiography, realism, fairy tales, fantasy, allegory. In her work Ortese weaves an ongoing dialogue with literary and non-literary works, through direct quotations, allusions, echoes, adoption of motifs and topoi. The book thus highlights the intertextual relationship with her sources: Leopardi, Dante, Petrarch, Manzoni, Collodi, Montale, Serao; Shakespeare, Milton, Keats, Blake, Joyce, Conrad, Melville, Poe, Hawthorne, Hardy; Manrique, Gongora, de Quevedo, Villalón, Bello, Cantar del mio Cid; Heine, Valery, Puccini's Madam Butterfly, folklore, popular songs, and the Bible. Ortese thus shapes her literary themes in the background of social, political and economic upheavals over six decades of Italian history, culminating in an allegorical critique of modernity and a call for a renewed bond between humans and the Other.
