INTRODUCTIONCBD (Cannabidiol) is a compound found in the Cannabis plant. It can be used in several different ways including vaping, tinctures, capsules, and edibles.Unlike its close relative, THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is completely non-psychoactive. This allows us to benefit from the many health properties of the Cannabis plant without the negative side effects of "getting high."Because of this, CBD became a very popular option for those seeking a natural alternative to treat conditions such as chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, PTSD, epilepsy and other mental disorders. At first, many were skeptical, thinking that a natural compound, let alone a Cannabis-compound, could effectively treat such a wide range of conditions. But as medical researchers learned more, and the stories from tens of thousands of people began to stack up, the truth was undeniable. CBD works. For starters, CBD inherits many of the medicinal properties of Cannabis such as being anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiolytic. This allows it to provide natural stress, anxiety and pain relief. But this alone is not what allows CBD to benefit so many conditions. What allows it to effectively treat so many conditions, and maintain health and wellness in the body, is how the cannabinoids found in CBD interact with receptors throughout our body.In 1988, the first cannabinoid receptor was discovered in the brain of a rat. Researchers found that these receptors reacted specifically to THC, and were found primarily found in regions of the brain responsible for mental and physiological processes such as memory, high cognition, emotion, and motor coordination. Two years later, in 1993, the second cannabinoid receptor was found as part of the immune and central nervous systems. It was then that researchers started to realize that they may have been onto something, but these receptors were only found in rodents, so what is the big deal right?Fast forward to 1995, researchers discovered that these receptors, now officially referred to as the CB1 receptor and CB2 receptor were found not only in rats, but within thousands of other species, including humans. Thanks to advancements in technology and knowledge and tons of clinical trials, researchers were able to reverse engineer what they discovered, trace back through the metabolic pathways of various cannabinoids, and uncover an entirely unknown signaling system between the CB1 and CB2 receptors in our bodies and receptors found in Cannabis compounds, which they called "endocannabinoids."Due to the role of endocannabinoids in this system, the system was officially named the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).As researchers learned more about the ECS, they discovered that it was a vital component in maintaining the body's homeostasis, which is the ideal balance between interdependent elements in the body.To give you an idea on how the ECS helps maintain homeostasis, Let me give you an example. When we become stressed, our mind releases cortisol, which is the compound responsible for how we feel when we are stressed. Cortisol can be helpful when we need to react quickly to a dangerous situation; however too much disrupts the natural balance of our body and mind can result in serious health problems. When certain endocannabinoids are introduced into the body, it not only helps provide stress relief, it helps manage our perception of stress so that we can look at the situation with a clear mind, and make the best decision. With all the scientific jargon, this last section may have been a little confusing. So just to clarify... Scientists discovered that there are systems in our bodies that are solelydependenton their interaction with cannabinoids, and these systems are part of vital functions in our bodies.Basically, our bodies were designed to work with cannabinoids, and they can even be considered as essential to our overall health and wellness.

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is a well known product that originates from cannabis. CBD is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits but no psychoactive effects, meaning that it does not make users 'high'. The fact that CBD is non-psychoactive makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammation, anxiety, pain and of course nausea, to name just a few. While there is still some controversy surrounding cannabis and products like CBD oil, the awareness around the various health benefits that CBD has to offer is growing rapidly.CBD can be found in a number of forms, including capsules, liquid oil, salves, creams, tinctures, sublingual supplements, sprays, oils as a paste and in edible forms, such as CBD Gummies or sweets. You also have the option to inhale CBD oil from vapor-releasing pens, similar to the technology for e-cigarettes. The variation in the number of methods used to consume CBD Oil, means that there is a lot of controlled flexibility concerning concentration. This makes CBD Oil useful for people of all ages, for whatever personal needs. While CBD does not have any major side effects, it is important to note that there is the possibility of side effects such as dizziness, low blood pressure or withdrawal symptoms, such as irritability. Therefore it is extremely important to consult with your primary physician before you decide to go down the CBD route. Many people make the mistake of assuming that CBD Oil and Hemp Oil are the same thing. In actual fact that is far from the truth. Although CBD can also come from hemp and neither of the two have psychoactive effects, CBD and Hemp Oil are derived from different parts of the plant and have different purposes.CBD is a compound found in hemp flowers and extractors try to pull as much of it from the plant matter as they can and then purify it. Typically, extractors will select strains of the plant that are known to have higher CBD levels with the purpose of maximizing the end product. The end result is an oil that is rich in CBD and low in THC, which makes it perfect for those seeking the benefits of marijuana with none of the psychoactive effects. CBD Oil has been known to help treat epilepsy and psychological problems, act as an anti-inflammatory and even aid in cancer treatment. Because production methods vary and some producers use cannabis instead of hemp to produce the oil, there are products out there that contain both CBD and THC. However, the amount of THC in these products is strictly limited and reflects doses and concentrations permitted by pharmaceutical standards.Hemp Oil, on the other hand, is normally derived from the seeds of the plant. The seeds contain as much as 50% of their weight in oil and the oil is then made by pressing the seeds, to extract the fatty oils from within. The seeds contain very little CBD, not nearly enough to take advantage of its medicinal properties and only trace amounts of THC. Unlike CBD Oil, Hemp Oil has a strong nutritional value because it is high in polyunsaturated fats like Omega 3, Omega 6 and Vitamin E. For this reason and the fact that it is low in saturated fats compared to other oils, Hemp Oil has found a spot in many people's kitchens. It often has a nutty to grassy flavour and high-quality brands can be used for salad dressing and cooking. Also, due to its high vitamin E content, Hemp Oil can also be found in numerous health products such as soap, shampoo and skin conditioner. It can be concluded that there is a very important underlying difference between these two oils. CBD Oil is used for medicinal purpose while Hemp Oil is used for its nutritional value.

Costochondritis syndrome is characterized by chest pain that is caused by an inflammation of the cartilage that links the rib and the sternum together. The area where the ribs and sternum meet together is called the costosternal joint. The cause of costochondritis is not known, although it is said to be a result of an infection or as a complication after a surgical procedure that involves the sternum. It is commonly experienced by children and adolescents and comprises about 10-30% of chest pain that children complain about. 650,000 yearly cases of chest pain are diagnosed by doctors among people aged 10-21 years old. It has been observed that the peak age is 12-14. It is also more prevalent among females (70%) than in males (30%).Also known as chest wall pain, costochondritis syndrome can mimic the symptoms of other heart conditions such as a heart attack. The only difference between a heart attack and chest wall pain is that a heart attack is characterized with a dull, heavy pain that is located at the chest that is often as if coming from beneath the breast bone. Chest pain that is due to costochondritis is often localized and can be elicited by pressing a finger at a specific area where the patient will be able to pinpoint the discomfort. If pain is accompanied by swelling, the condition is called Tietze syndrome.Having costochondritis can be painful and even inconvenient. The condition starts when there is an inflammation at the cartilage that connects the breast bone (sternum) and ribs together. Costochondritis can come from some causes, but none of them specific and identified as the definite cause. Some doctors say that the condition is caused by repeated microtrauma or injury to the chest, or as a complication to a surgery done at the sternum. Some also say it can be caused by chronic respiratory conditions, a viral infection, or a presence of inflammatory disease. Symptoms of costochondritis can manifest during excessive physical exertion, coughing, and sneezing Treatment of chest wall pain is usually directed either towards the costochondritis causes if possible. If not, a symptomatic approach is done, which means that the doctor is concerned with helping the patient lessen the pain and discomfortThe pain is located at the exact point where the two junctions meet, called the costosternal joint. The cause is unknown, but it is believed to be from repeated microtrauma, a blunt accident involving that area of the chest, or as a complication from a surgical procedure on the sternum. It is said to be a common cause of chest pain among children and adolescents but can be found among adults around 20-40 years of age. This condition is benign but can be very troublesome for some as the pain can be severe enough to affect their daily activities..

Costochondritis (with unknown cause) is a common cause of chest pain in children and adolescents. It accounts for 10% to 30% of all chest pain in children. Annually, doctors evaluate about 650,000 cases of chest pain in young people ages 10 to 21. The peak age for the condition is ages 12-14.Costochondritis is also considered as a possible diagnosis for adults who have chest pain. Chest pain in adults is considered a potentially serious sign of a heart problem by most doctors until proven otherwise. Chest pain in adults usually leads to a battery of tests to rule out heart attack and heart disease.Researchers are beginning to explore the possible applications of cannabinoids such as cannabidiol (CBD) in the treatment of costochondritis. This book gives an account of all you need to know about treating costochondritis with cbd oil
