মহাভারত ভারতীয় সংস্কৃতি ও সাহিত্যের মাথা এবং ভারতের ঐতিহ্য ।মহাভারত ভাল-মন্দের কথা নয়, এটা মানুষের কথা, তাদের ব্যক্তিগত জটিলতার কথা, তাদের ভাবনা চিন্তার কথা যা জীবন দর্শন সম্পর্কে, মানুষের সম্পর্কে, যুদ্ধ সম্পর্কে এমনকি বিভিন্ন বৈজ্ঞানিক সন্ধানের হদিশ বা সম্ভবনার দিক নির্দেশ করে এবং যা আজও প্রাসঙ্গিক ।মহাভারত আমাদের শেখায় যে মৃত্যু সবার হবে কারণ যাদের জন্ম হয়েছে তাদের মৃত্যু হবেই এবং এটাই অবশ্যম্ভাবী। এটা একটা স্বাভাবিক নিয়ম। মহাভারতের অসংখ্য মূল্যবান সাংসারিক পাঠ রয়েছে । আমরা যখন কর্ণ-র জীবনের দিকে তাকাই, তখন বুঝতে পারি দয়ালু, নম্র ও উদার হওয়া এই পৃথিবীতে যথেষ্ট নয় । কৃষ্ণের মতো বন্ধুদের নিঃশর্ত সমর্থন বিস্ময়ের কাজ করতে পারে । কেউ স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে একটি প্রাপ্য পায় না; এর জন্য একজনকে লড়াই করতে হয় । যাঁরা অর্জুনের মতো সারা জীবন শিখবেন , তাঁরা অসম্ভব কিছু লাভ করবেন । অনেক সময় ভীষ্ম , বিদুর , দ্রোণ -এর মতো বন্ধুদের রূপে শত্রু আসে । অভিমন্যু চক্রব্যূহ কাহিনী আমাদের শেখায় অর্ধজ্ঞান , না জানার চেয়ে বিপজ্জনক হতে পারে । একলব্যের থেকে আমরা শিখতে পারি যে কেউ কারও আকাঙ্ক্ষাকে আটকাতে পারবে না । মহাভারতের সর্বাপেক্ষা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সাংসারিক শিক্ষা হলো যে জীবন যাপনের কৌশল, পরিকল্পনা ও পদ্ধতির গুরুত্বকে বোধগম্য করা । এতে চিন্তার নতুন দিগন্ত খুলে যায় এবং সত্য-এর আবহমান মুহূর্ত ধরা পড়ে । এই কারণেই মহাকাব্য আজও প্রাসঙ্গিক । মহর্ষি ব্যাসের বুদ্ধির কাছে আমাদের মাথা নত করতে হবে । রাজনীতিবিদ এবং সাধারণ মানুষ একইভাবে এই লেখাটির সঙ্গে পরিচয় করে, কারণ এটি তাদের নিজস্ব চিন্তা প্রক্রিয়া এবং কর্মের প্রতিধ্বনি করে । মানুষের উচ্চাকাঙ্খা, বস্তুগত সুখভোগের অবিশ্বাস্য তীব্রতা, ক্ষমতা বা শক্তির স্পৃহা , অন্যকে আয়ত্ত করার বাসনা, মানুষের প্রকৃতির ভাল-মন্দ-সব কিছুকে ঘিরে ধরে সাহিত্যের এই বিস্ময় গাথা চলতেই থাকে । মহাভারত কখনও শেষ হয় না। এই গল্পের প্রধান নীতিটি ছিল যে, অসৎ স্বল্প মেয়াদী বিজয় লাভ করতে পারে, কিন্তু শেষ পর্যন্ত, সৎ সব সময় জয়লাভ করবে ।

মাঝে মাঝে মানুষের জীবনকে সামনে এগিয়ে নিতে কিছু মোটভেশনাল কথা, গল্প, উক্তি ঘুরে দাড়ানোর মাধ্যম হিসেবে কাজ করে। মানুষ এসব শিক্ষণীয় গল্প থেকে নিজেদের চলার পথে আলোর দেখা পায়। এই বইটি এমনই কিছু শিক্ষণীয় ছোট গল্পের সমাহার, যা আপনার জীবনে চলার পথে অনুপ্রেরণা জাগাবে। এই অনুপ্রেরণামূলক গল্পগুলি আপনাকে আপনার স্বপ্ন অনুসরণ করতে, অন্যদের সাথে সদয় আচরণ করতে এবং নিজেকে কখনও হাল ছেড়ে না দিতে উত্সাহিত করবে। আপনার চিন্তাভাবনা এবং আপনার জীবন পরিবর্তন করার শক্তি খুঁজতে উত্সাহিত করবে। । আমরা মানুষেরা সব সময়ই না পাওয়ার দুঃখে ভুগি । খুব কমই মনেহয় মানুষ আছেন যারা তাদের এক্সপেক্টশন এর বন্ধন থেকে মুক্ত করতে পেরেছেন। যতক্ষন পর্যন্ত আপনার অভাব থাকবে ততক্ষন আপনার মোটিভেশন এর দরকার পরবে। কিছু পাওয়ার ইচ্ছা ,কিছু হওয়ার ইচ্ছা , নিজের অবস্থা থেকে তৈরি হওয়া হতাশা সবার মাঝেই কাজ করে। আমাদের সে আবেগ গুলো আমাদের উপর এতই প্রভাব বিস্তার করতে থাকে যে আমরা এমন অবস্থায় থাকি না, যেখান থেকে চাইলেই আমরা বের হয়ে আসতে পারি। আমরা প্রায়ই মোটিভেশনাল স্টোরি শুনি।অনেক বক্তার কথায় হারিয়ে যাই। নিজের ভিতরেই একটা অদৃশ্য শক্তি অনুভব করি । কিন্তু কি এই মোটিভেশনাল স্টোরি? কেন আমরা এমন অনুভব করি? আমরা কি কখনো ভেবে দেখেছি? আসলে প্রতিটা মোটিভেশনাল স্টোরি হচ্ছে কিছু “লুজারের গল্প” যারা নিজের পরিশ্রমে নিজের কপাল থেকে লুজার শব্দটা মিটিয়ে “সাকসেসফুল” কথাটা লিখিয়ে নিয়েছেন। কিংবা কোন একজন মানুষ যিনি এক্সট্রিম কোন বাজে অবস্থা থেকে নিজেকে টেনে এনেছেন উচ্চতার শিখড়ে কিংবা এমন কোন অবস্থায় যেখানে তার থাকার কথা না। জীবনে অনুপ্রেরণার গুরুত্ব যে কতটা, তা আমরা কমবেশি প্রত্যেকেই জানি। প্রত্যেক মানুষই চায় তারা যেন সর্বদা অনুপ্রাণিত থাকেন। এই অনুপ্রেরণামূলক বিচারগুলিকে বাস্তব জীবনে ঠিক মত মেনে চললে যে কোনো মানুষের জীবন অনয়াসেই বদলে যেতে পারে ।
