Chasing Davis written by James Luce and has been published by iUniverse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-03 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

When author James Luce was a boy, his father once summarized his moral philosophy of life in one sentence: Your rights end at the tip of my nose. Many years later, after embarking on his own voyage of reflection, Luce finally understood his father's words. In Chasing Davis, he shares a set of unique ethical tools and blueprints that can be conceived and implemented by either societies or individuals, ultimately creating a moral life solely guided by logic and science rather than superstition or belief in divine guidance. Luce believes it is time for a new genesis of moral living. He relies on several decades of research and contemplation as well as ancient and newly acquired wisdom as he carefully examines the difference between good and evil, the importance of self-awareness, and the reasons that morality is not dependent upon the existence of any god. Seekers of the truth and new ideas will learn the meaning and consequences of perception, as well as how to train ourselves to think more productively and morally and why laws, government, and religions are symptoms of our immorality. Chasing Davis provides a practical, objective set of behavioral and cognitive guidelines that will help anyone live a moral life, regardless of individual cultural, religious, or philosophic antecedents.

Chasing Jeb Stuart And John Mosby written by Robert F. O’Neill and has been published by McFarland this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-01-10 with History categories.

This book is an operational and tactical study of cavalry operations in Northern Virginia from September 1862 to July 1863. It examines in detail John Mosby's first six months as a partisan, within the context of the larger threat to the Union capital posed by Jeb Stuart. Previous studies of Mosby's career are largely based on postwar memoirs. This narrative balances those accounts with previously unpublished official contemporary records left by the Union soldiers assigned to the defense of Washington, D.C. The formation of the Michigan Cavalry Brigade is fully documented, along with the exploits of the brigade in the months before George Custer took command. Largely forgotten events, such as Jeb Stuart's Christmas Raid, the fight at Fairfax Station during Stuart's ride to Gettysburg, as well as the vital role played by Union general Julius Stahel's cavalry division in the critical month of June 1863, are examined at length.

Indiana State Police Captain Matt Leach led the hunt for John Dillinger during the violent early 1930s. Pushing a media campaign aimed at smoking out the fugitive, Leach elevated Dillinger to unprecedented notoriety. In return, Dillinger taunted him with phone calls and postcards, and vowed to kill him. Leach's use of publicity backfired, making him a pariah among his fellow policemen, and the FBI ordered his firing in 1937 for challenging their authority. This is the first full-length biography of the man.

**A USA Today Recommended Series!** This faerie godmother has an agenda of her own… Don't miss CHASING MIDNIGHT, a fantasy romance from bestselling author Kaitlyn Davis that reimagines the classic fairy tale of Cinderella. “I could redeem myself if I wanted to. I could help them. But I won’t. I’m the villain of their story, because it’s the only way to be the hero of mine.” Hundreds of years ago, humans learned the secret to sealing magic beneath their skin and stole it from the world. Faeries reverted back to flowers. Shifters remained trapped in their animal forms. Mermaids turned to foam. And the magical creatures who survived vowed revenge. Nymia is one of those survivors, a faerie brought back to life by the return of her magic. When she finds a human girl named Ella with her sister’s power trapped beneath her skin, she’ll do anything to get her back, including kill. There’s only one problem. This isn’t the world she remembers. Humans here have a power all their own—technology. And when a human prince sees her using magic, he’ll use every invention at his disposal to track her down. The countdown is on, and time is running out. Nymia needs to find Ella, take back her sister’s magic, and escape the determined prince before the clock strikes twelve, or she might not make it out of his city alive… *This is the third book in Once Upon a Curse, a series of interconnected stand-alone novels all set in the same fantasy universe. Disorder In The Court written by Andrea L. Alden and has been published by University of Alabama Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-08-21 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

Both expert and lay audiences have struggled to understand and apply commonplace definitions of sanity, and the portrayal of the insanity defense in popular culture has only served to further frustrate such understandings. Andrea L. Alden argues that the problems with understanding the insanity defense are, at their foundation, rhetorical. The legal concept of what constitutes insanity and, therefore, an abdication of responsibility for one's actions does not map neatly onto the mental health professions' understandings of mental illness and how that affects an individual's ability to understand or control his or her actions. Additionally, there are multiple layers of persuasion involved in any effort to convince a judge, jury--or a public, for that matter--that a defendant is or is not responsible for his or her actions at a particular moment in time. Alden examines landmark court cases such as the trial of Daniel McNaughtan, Durham v.

Frankie Valen's autobiography, "Chasing An Illusive Dream," is a story that contains the drama and pathos that inspired the old cliché, "Truth is stranger than fiction." This story of a pop-singer is about fame and the loss of it, separation from family and children, and a dramatic return to the Lord. "Frankie's story is a story of rags to riches to rags that started back in 1967 but left him with an enduring celebrity status." Linda Stinnett, Derby, KS Informer. This book will help give the reader his family history, and the story of the mistakes and accomplishments he made, and the incredible journey he took. His feelings of rejection at every turn, the constant fear of never being accepted or good enough to make a difference, and yet he experienced fame and fortune, later becoming a gospel recording artist, and traveling with his concert pianist wife Phyllis nationwide for over 18 years in a full-time music ministry. This book attempts to answer such questions such as: Is Frankie related to the famous Mallory/Duracell battery family? Is Frankie related to the singer Richie Valens? Was Daniel Boone Frankie's cousin? Does Frankie share a grandmother with the famous Lucille Ball? What about Frankie being related to the Piper Cub airplane family? Because Frankie never became a major recording artist, it took years of hard work and dedication for him to try and become a household name. Frankie has decided to become very transparent in his desire to reveal his heart to his readers on every page.
